yeah, when i first listened to this song, i was hit by how incredibly different it is their usual sound.....but still, i guess daniel is growing up(??) aswell as his style and ideas, and i think it's a welcoming change and an incredibly striking comeback. Although the way he hit the high notes on this song was somehow...painful..to listen to...maybe he's trying to do too much at one time...who knows... |

corey should stick to being lead singer in slipknot - what he does best..
when i first heard that corey had done a solo, i was extremely enthusiastic...when i heard the song though, i was dissapointed...maybe it is emotionally deep and startling, but otherwise, it's nothing that is reason to awe at...it just didnt strike me as something *that* wonderful at all....the echoing cries of 'once i hold on' sounds like something that nicklecrap would do...sorry corey, you are indeed *the* man, but this doesn't really add much..
and note, that this is my OPINION/COMMENT..not a stated fact..so dont come whining at me....
...since when do people who listen to slipknot declare that corey was 'cute'...

here i think he's torn over someone, he despises them, yet in a way he feels his very life depends on them for him to live. The simple 'i need you' at the end of the chorus suggests that regardless of how much he feels they mean nothing to him, or how much he tries not to think about them, he still needs them (presuming its a her) to live his live, he just cant live without his hate...
but the 'scabs on her face its a fucking disgrace' suggests abuse, maybe its a personal response to someone he knows, he wants nothing to do with her yet feels he cant do without her... |

first thing that hit me was the idea someone was forcing someone to hide something (grab a brush and put a little make up). It sounds as though its about people forcing other people to be something they in reality cant. However the 'i dont think you trust in my self reighteous suicide' feels as though that person is willing to show their sacfirice for someone else, even though he's done them wrong (father, why have you forsaken me).
