i have a similar but different opinion on this song. i think its about someone who was given up for adoption, or abandoned at birth(or shortly thereafter) by their mother. 'you grew up way too fast" = a woman who didnt get to be a teenager because she had this child, and maybe other children. 'we're grown up orphans who never knew their names' = the sons/daugher(s) of the woman who think about their mother, but dont know her and therefore dont know their history(name). i have more interperatations of more verses in the song, but thats the main idea of it. im just wondering, but who said this song has to be about a girl? just because it mentions the word 'girl' once, doesnt mean that.... cuz if it is about a girl, how does one go about 'crashing into' a guy?? just a thought.... and did no one catch the s and m references?? |
