Yeah - Sylvia Plath: author, had a failed marriage with poet Ted Hughes. 'The Bell Jar' is like an autobiography.
I like the line; '"Then she'd get me pretty loaded on gin". I reckon that's typical 'Bell Jar' speak.
I wish I knew what this song really means, if it does have a profound meaning. |

i still think it's a beautiful song, and one of DB's best, simply because of the lyrix... i reckons chris is probably one of the best lyricists around ~ 'my hopes are so high that your kiss might kill me, so won't you kill me, so i die happy...' and the way he describes situations so perfectly... wow, sublime :)
also, i'm totally gutted that (to my knowledge) he hasn't visited us over in the U.K yet, his gigs sound amazing... along with TJT, why are all these fantabulous emo musicians avoiding us so!? (rhetorical before anyone starts slating the U.K!) |

i do think this song is amazingly good ~ corey does have SUCH an amazing voice, and even though it's probably not intended to be, i find it kinda peaceful and relaxing. however, i can sort of see where rockstar's coming from. i totally understand that music is a release of emotions, and that's what makes it all the better. i did want to point out that maybe rockstar does have a point. one of my closest friends is a HUGE slipknot (esp. corey taylor) fan, and corey's a total role model for him... which is great cause my friend is very talented musically so it gives him inspiration etc. in a way i think it's kind of a vicious circle though, (and this is totally related to my personal situation, so i'm not saying anyone else is like this), because my friend seems to be even more drawn to slipknot's lyrix because he feels he can relate to them a bit. he's been made into a very weak person because of events in his life, however, i feel that this means he relies even more heavily on relating himself to the words of their songs. this just means that making him feel better is a tedious task ~ he'll be feeling better, but then hear another set of lyrix to 'relate' to and feel worse again, kinda one step forwards, two back style.
anyway... i just wanted to voice that opinion, i don't want to slate corey or slipknot as i said, i think this is a great song, i'm just showing you that i see where rockstar could be coming from. enough of the babble,

i reckons all the goo'z songs are beautiful yet harsh... amazin combination though. i lurve this song, i could understand the heroin meaning i only ponder over one line (and for some reason it's my favourite) ~ 'angels fall without you there'. is it him explaining how he misses her or is there something else behind it? |
