I think this song is either about a special person, tied in with stuff about a movie.
Ex.
-Oh, if I could remain, but it's just a visit=The movie will eventually end, but he loves it so much, he whats it to go on forever.
-To the lovely dancing lights, I begged, "May I cut in?"
But they never stopped playing "their song"
Of a joyous song the sing, I've heard whispers
On a freezing note, I resonate=he wants to be a character in the movie, but it is not real, the lovely dancing lights could be the images from the movie projector.
-All the colours upon leaving, all will turn to grey=the actor is so colorful in the film, but when it end, he is just a normal person. |

Yes this song is awesome. I am not a huge fan of christian-rock, but you gotta love the nice, uplifting message.
Anyway, there are a few flaws in the submitted lyrics.
1) On the chorus, it isn't "And I remember I would soon be dead", but it is "And I remember I was too beaten."
2) Also, instead of "My soul is dying", Peter is sayng "My soul is tired, and I won't look away." |

Great song and movie. But even thiugh the song is so sad, that is what makes it so beautiful.
It gives off this feeling that you're living just for the sake of being alive...and nothing else. Then, that is when that feeling that your life means nothing creeps up on you.

Who gives a shit if they play this on MTV.

This song is a big "fuck you" to Billy Corgan who said that Rock is Dead. As much as I love MM, I kinda in a twited way, agree with Billy. That everyone is listening to the Britney Spears' and N'Syncs' of the world, and that is what killed rock. I personally liked the 90s, which was a Rock golden age. Also, MM takes a Nietzschian standpoint in the message in this song saying that we are doing what everyone else is doing, listening to what the sheep is listening to, that we are no longer individuals, but a herd following a shepard, a false god if you will. |
