To be honest, I'm more to think that Melinda has become a nun. "a harlot of god upon the earth." as said in FOM.
Since she has disgraced her status as a nun to be with the returning protagonist, she has been murdered, our protagonist is captured, and sentenced to death, as in White Cluster.
But different interpretations are always good. :) |

I would be willing to argue that Opeth isn't goth metal. Goth metal would be more along th elines of To Die For, or maybe Lake Of Tears. Honestly, this has been avidly debated, and the conclusion most us have come to, is that opeth doesn't fit into a genre. Us at ultimatemetal.com have made our new genre for Opeth, "Wandering through a dark, cool, forest" metal. Hehe, really though, does it matter? The entire album "MAYH" seeminly is a conceptual series telling the story of a man who dies, and comes back to find not only is his love with someone else, but she is happier with the new man. He rises up, and is determined to kill him and take her back to the world of souls with him. The track "Demon Of The Fall" seeminly is the point were he is trying to kill her :) Opeth fuckin rules!
