Great song, but I can see that a lot of the lyrics are confusing. The way I see it, it's about being in the friend zone, basically. While you have these strong feelings for her, she talks excitedly (Deep in the heart of joy, Talks like crazy) with some "severed spiteful boy." You see he's flat and boring (talks to the sea, which is empty and just nothingness), but that's all she sees in you. The chorus is great, and self-explanatory. Eventually she moves on from this guy, presumably after taking what she can from him, and you realize she's a maneater. Now you see how she works, with her "Deadly severed spiteful tongue," and the rest of the song just makes sense... you see how she really is, but you can't help but feel the same way you did before, whether it's lust or really love. Alternatively, you could be the "hateful, severed, spiteful boy," and it's about this girl that basically chewed you up and spit you out. |

Dumbest song ever. Why is it "dancer?" Why? It's the kind of grammar I'd expect from hip-hop. Or are we A dancer. Or are we dancerS. Seriously, was it so hard to add one letter so the song makes freaking sense? When The Killers first came out, they sounded like everyone else at the time... they actually endured, and made some (emphasis on some) decent songs, but now it's just retarded. And then they get Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten to remix this crappy song? God, what is wrong with this world. |

*beats kupal with a board with a nail in it* This song, to me, does sound like letting someone drive your life. The fact the line "I'm your passenger" is repeated so many times kinda hints at this. Of course, I do agree with the sexual inuendos in this song. It does seem very sexual. The tempos, tones, riffs and lyrics all create this sexual feeling. This song, as are many Deftones/Tool songs, are great to have sex to. To say this is the best song ever is kind of a stretch (Knife Party and Korea are still the best Deftones songs in my book), but this definetely scores points by featuring Maynard... Maynard = God. |

This song, to me, is a guy and his girl that are commiting suicide together. "I’m the new king I taste the queen " "I can float here forever" is about being on the gurney in a hospital (or a morgue). "In this room we can’t touch The floor " adds to that idea. The whole "anemic" thing is either a transfusion, or embalming (would make more sense when he says "in here we're all anemic" if its a morgue). That's just my take on it... I was really high when I heard the song last time so *shrug*. That girl Rodleen is incredible... oy... makes my skin crawl. Don't flame me with some "r u stoopid?! cant u fucking reed" bullshit. I simply call it how I see it. |

I was all happy they came out with a new song, until I found out it wasn't them :( But this is great :D I have a new fave song and a possible new fave band :cool: "but home is a feeling I've buried in you" That line kicks ass! You know the saying... "There's no place like home." This guy needs the girl, but she's leaving him. He blames himself, and exclaims "I'm alright, it only hurts when I breathe" or, it only hurts cuz I'm still alive and not dead yet. Powerful :nod: |

"I'm not alone cuz the TV's on" kinda hinted this to me, perhaps Jim was trying to convey the message that something needs to change in American society. If someone said this already, sorry... Song kicks ass... Plain and simple :D I'm not sure what the lyrics mean. I picture a dance floor. Someone's bein a wallflower, and debating whether to go out there and dance with the person they have this huge crush on, or to sit back knowing that they don't have a chance. The song is kinda like a "Hey, dumbass, get out there :P " kinda song. The person wants to get out there and live one of those "dance-floor-movie-scenes" where the hero and heroine meet on the dance floor and fall in love (tryin to think of a movie example... I'll put it up when I think of it). As far as the rest of it, perhaps it's someone who was opened up to a field of music at this dance, and he/she is remembering the experience (Hence the use of "nostalgia"), wishing they could relive the moment. He/She wants to meet the person again, and fall in love tonight... :D |

I love this song. The emotion in the words, the power in the vocals, the slow reggae style, it's a great harmonizing blend. The meaning is almost too obvious. If you're deaf and blind, you probably won't understand it. Of course... you wouldn't know what music is, and I'd feel sorry for you cuz you couldn't hear this dope ass song. :( Anyways, this is to all u people out there that bitch about who listens to your bands. Why should that change your idea of their music? If you think "Oh they suck cuz all the teenyboppers listen to them instead of Nsync" then you were only listening to 311 to be a poser, or any other band for that matter. Your opinion shouldn't be based on who listens to it, but rather the messages the artists convey to you. Finally, what fascinated me the most is the choice of the word "Amber" to describe color. Those of you who know physics will know that Amber has the ability to electrically charge items by contact. Maybe Nick chose the word "Amber" because this girl leaves a charge on him ;) Gold is also very conductive. The word "energy" kinda hinted this to me. I doubt I'm right, but hey, you never know. Anyways, it's obvious she means a ton to him. 311 Kicks ass :D |

God... this song is incredible. I love this song. I think of it 2 ways. One way like the music video. That's an awesome song meaning. Another, as I see it, is this guy who loves this girl, but she went away for a long time, and he thinks he won't see her again. Kinda a spin-off of the music video idea. Anyways, he loves her so much, but he can't talk to her or see her. The use of the present tense suggests this, even though its not the same as the music video. Speak instead of spoke, get instead of got, talk instead of talked, etc. Still, I love this song. The first time I heard it was on the radio while in the drive-thru line at Burger King. I just stared out into space while the lady was yelling at me to take the food. The music and words touched me deeper than any other song ever has. Thank you Aaron :) |
