Incubus – Divided Lyrics

You can find this song on the Strait Up tribute album......it was supposed to be the next Snot album, but then Lynn Strait (the lead singer of Snot) died in a car accident. Lynn hadn't put down the vocal tracks for the album yet but most of the music had already been done. The rest of the band invited all of the vocalists from their favorite bands that Snot opened for or played with over the years. Each vocalist gave their own tribute to Lynn with the lyrics. Some of them seem more like venting their emotions about his death though. John from Korn,Serf from System of a Down, Fred from Limp Bizkit(his song sucks ass.....stupidest lyrics i've ever heard......he actually tried giving props for his band in a tribute song!!!!), Lajon from Sevendust, Mark from Sugar Ray, Max from Soulfly, Dez from Coal Chamber, and Corey from Slipknot. Oh, and of course Brandon from Incubus. This song and Lajon's song (Angel's Son) are like the two best songs on the cd. Their the ones I go back and listen to over again.

ok....teenagefuckup?? What do you expect her to do about being put on mtv??? tell her record company to take her off??? She probably doesn't have any say where it gets played. That's publicity. Let me ask you this....If you had a band...and you had the chance to be famous and on radio and tv everywhere....do you think it would be easy for you to be real selective??? it could be worse...she could be on vh1. I can't understand why it matters so much to you people what she wears or looks like. What if someone told you that cause you were wearing certain clothes that you were a certain type of person or had to be a certain way??? Oh wait.....people probably do that to skaters and punks all the time right??? I believe it's called STEREOTYPING. It's so ridiculous how you all say she's a poser and blah blah blah. Is there some kind of punk uniform or code of punk attire that I'm not aware of??? I thought being a punk was about being different. You all seem to want her to be just like you. Looks like she's being different by being comfortable with herself and her music no matter what people say. So give it a rest already.

hey i just looked at the video and stopped it at the end where it shows the paper with 10:24 written on it. Sorry,Headexplody731, but the WHOLE thing says 10:24....just many times over and written in many differents styles and sizes. Well....there's definitely some deeper meaning there somewhere.

wow.....when i first heard these guys i thought....."wow.....smack my ass.....those are some thoughtfilled lyrics....hand em the damn grammy". But then I heard this one and I could not believe that such beautiful words could from the same band. I also couldn't believe how perfectly the song fit my life. I have a 16month-old son and it kills me to not be able to have him near all the time. I only get to see him like two days a week. They may as well have shot me and my ex in the video cause that's exactly how it is between me,her and her b/f too. Every time I'm feeling like I don't have what it takes to be a father, I hear this song come on the radio and it gives me the confidence and the belief that I CAN be the man and the example that my son needs me to be. RARELY does a song ever touch me on a level like that. I can only hope their music in the future can come close to the standard they set for themselves here.

Alien Ant Farm – Courage Lyrics

this song describes a situation i had once pretty well. I was workin with my job on a three week assignment in a town about four hours drive from my home town. While i was there i would go back home every day i had off to see my then-girlfriend. I "traveled far for this lover"....and then i found out "who she was, she was not". She dumped me afterwards. Alot of AAF's songs are about relationships.....I find it helps me feel better cause i've had alot of the same problems that he talks about. They're so underrated and their best songs aren't even getting played on the radio.

John Mayer – My Stupid Mouth Lyrics

good god it's like he's speaking directly out of my head!!! I always do that type of thing! And sometimes i just wish i could stop and never open my stupid mouth again. Every word is perfectly descriptive of my situation. Even the whole chess with the salt and pepper thing! I love songs like this that I think maybe I could've written if I only had a pen and paper at that moment. He's a great artist, though I fear he'll draw many comparisons to Dave Matthews. But hey.....if you're gonna be compared at least it should be someone good, right????

I agree for the most part with pumpkingurl that he's afraid of being alone. In the first verse he says that he "missed the best part" which I think means that he didn't realize it when they were at their happiest together. "Can we please go back to start?" definitely means that he wishes he could start over and change things but what things is he talking about? Well, "Forgive my indecision" could mean one of two things. Either he broke up with her or he did something really stupid that caused her to break up with him. I tend to think that he broke up with her though.This relationship has obviously gone through lots of drama as stated by "....when I want off that ride". So it's happened before.
