| Coheed and Cambria – The Light and the Glass Lyrics | 21 years ago |

The whole storyline seems to have deep, deep roots in Greek mythology, and I'd wager that it's also based on Roman/Greek epics. Hell, there are even the fates watching over everything, but here they're called the "prise." To me, this song feels like the end of an act in a play, a reprise. All the characters come on stage and summarize what just happened. With just one voice, it's difficult to pick out voices (even though we KNOW there are multiple voices: Coheed, Claudio, Al the Killer, Sinistar perhaps, and so on and so forth), so having a reprise can be pretty tricky. I take it as this: Claudio is pissed, confronts Al and Newo, hears Ambellina, has the Sinistar awaken (if anyone can confirm or deny this aspect, I'd really appreciate it. The Sinistar is something I really don't understand) and they're all having monologues at the same time. Claudio (as Sinistar) "I've been cautious with the words I extend / allow this year before the world starts to end." Ambellina "Your father's dead, he passed in his sleep" Al the Killer ". . . and I woke to the sounds of her crying." They all come to the conclusion that there is a lot going on and major changes are about to occur, so they plead the audience (in Greek/Roman theater fashion) to "Pray for us all." Bah. There is far too much to think about here. We'll find out what's going on when the comic catches up to this point, seven years from now. :P |

| My Chemical Romance – Vampires Will Never Hurt You Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I don't see any reason why this song should be taken for anything more than face value. It's a fun song about vampires, you have to admit that's pretty cool. | |
| My Chemical Romance – Demolition Lovers Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Some dozen listens later and the end of this song still brings me to tears. Damn. The meaning of this song isn't too tough to pick out, and MCR have said on multiple occasions that they're largely inspired by movies, books, and most forms of media, so the parallel between this and Natural Born Killers is probably more than coincidence. | |
| My Chemical Romance – I Never Told You What I Do For a Living Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It really has to grow on you. It took me a few full listens of the album to see how well this song fits. Sure, it's no Demolition Lovers, but that's arguably their best song. | |

| Ever seen the movie, Hellraiser 2: Hellbound? I just watched that and the "she(in this song)==Julia" theory is just too tempting to pass up right now. | |

| Hey, maybe this song is about cocaine. WOW, A REVELATION! | |
| Radiohead – Paranoid Android Lyrics | 24 years ago |

This song obviously can be split into three parts (that were to be three seperate songs, but this just seemed to work) "Please could you stop the noise I'm trying to get some rest? From all the unborn chicken voices in my head What's that, what's that When I am king you will be first against the wall With your opinion which is of no consequence at all What's that, what's that " Being the first part, this is where the title gets the "Paranoid" part. Easy enough, the voice speaking talks of great paranoia and aspirations of that far surpassing his/her capabilities. "Ambition makes you look pretty ugly Kicking squealing gucci little piggy You don't remember, you don't remember, why don't you remember my name Off with his head man, off with his head man Why don't you remember my name?-- I guess he does" This portion, although very different and supposedly unconnected to the first, creates an antagonist to the first character. This one openly states his/her feelings, and beliefs. This is everything the first one isn't. "Rain down, rain down, come on rain down on me From a great height, from a great height, height Rain down, rain down, come on rain down on me From a great height, from a great height, height (repeats 3rd time, underneath vocals are:) That's it sir, you're leaving, the crackle of pig skin, the dust and the screaming The yuppies networking the panic, the vomit, the panic, the vomit God loves his children, God loves his children, yeah " Now, and this is a stretch, I believe this one is the android. Also paranoid, this one feels the whole world is on it's shoulders. Does Marvin ring a bell? (here comes the stretch...) In the book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, there is a character, Marvin, the Paranoid Android. This character feels it is given the most demeaning tasks, considering it's large mental capacity. This is one of my personal favorite songs (the reason I bought OK Computer, my favorite CD) and yet this song fills me with so much dread. |
