well you dont really have to be bisexual to be in touch with your feminine side. i've known plenty of straight guys who wore makeup and were very feminine looking and extremely hot in my opinion. i think it attracts girls to a guy more when he seems to share everything in common with her especially feminine tendencies. it's most likely just about sex but it definitely reminds me of someone i know. beautiful and very sexy. |

| Björk – Play Dead Lyrics
|
Darling, stop confusing me,
with your wishful thinking.
Hopeful embraces,
Don't you understand?
I have to go through this,
seems to me like it's about a girl whose lover wants all this stuff to happen like maybe getting married and she knows it will never happen and it just hurts her more to think about it so she just wants all the pain to go away by playing dead. pretty sad because it's so true sometimes. sometimes your lover means well in the beginning and they just end up lieing to you and leaving you, and you knew it would happen all along. |

i always had a kind of similar notion about the girl isobel except the line "married to myself" kind of threw me off because i assumed she was just this extremely independent woman who thought she didn't need to be true to anyone but herself. it's an extremely beautiful song. i love how some of bjorks are so beautifully orchestrated. |

| Mariah Carey – Can't Take That Away Lyrics

mariah is one of the very few pop stars that understands about technique. there is so much more to singing than just belting it out and using lots of vibrato and embellishment. in case you didn't notice, charisma, this woman has a fucking 3 1/2 octave range. now that takes talent. i'm more of a metal head/classic rock oriented person so it's rare for some one like me to like Mariah Carey, yet somehow she breaks through to the other side. i don't see how anyone couldn't like her, if not for her personality, then simply for her amazing voice. |

i think maybe my "young" love she means "innocent" love. all she wants is to be near the person....doesn't really know what love takes and what it consists of, but it's fresh and new and beautiful, yet as old as the stars. |

isn't it "must make a pact" not "pack"? saying we must make a "pack" doesn't make sense. a pact on the other hand is like a promise. |

did i forget to mention that this is my favorite song of all time, even before i made that first comment in 2002. i've always loved yes and i'm so happy i got to see them in concert when i was a freshmen in high school. it was one of the best nights of my life. they didn't play this song, probably because it's so long and a lot of people are impatient, but it was a friggin' awesome concert! |

wow......that last comment i made was sooooo long ago.....yeah i agree lester. it's very romantic when you put into that perspective, but i was kind of thinking about after what revelations was saying. everyone will be home and happy and we won't have any worries. we will all be together as one. "political ends, as sad remains, will die". we will all realize that all this stuff on earth doesn't matter. |

this song mentions a garden and failing at becoming god, so i cant help but think maybe it ties into satan or eve or something. both of them wanted to become like god, eve wanted wisdom, satan wanted power, and they were punished for it. just a thought....for all i know none of their lyrics have anything to do with anything biblical... |

also, the bible says we were all created in God's image, so it would make sense for God to have at least some female characteristics. that doesn't necessarily mean God's female because that argument could be used on both sides, but just a thought, though. Also, Christ once said that the only way you can enter into the Kingdom of heaven is if you become like a child. the main point of this song stresses innocense i think. |

i think maybe the child in the song probably represents everyone at one point in our lives because we are all asking questions about God and questioning our own faith and trying to understand life. As for the god being "her", I think God was always interpreted as masculine in the Bible because males back when the Bible were written were the pillar of the family. So it would make sense for God to be the strong dominant figure, rather than uneducated and considered as weak as a female (not that we are anymore). When you think about it it would make more sense for God to be female because females create life by giving birth. Then again the church is said to be the bride of Christ, so its hard to say. It's a pretty song either way. |

| Evanescence – Bring Me To Life Lyrics

Personally I really don't understand why people have to desciminate against secular music just because it doesnt talk about God. Not all secular music is bad. I think it's good to listen to bothe sides of this world. One side shows an emptyness while the other shows fullfilment and I think alot of Christians just try to block all of that out. The world will never be perfect no matter how much Christian rock you listen to. And I'm not saying this becuase I'm not a Christian ( I am by the way) I'm saying this because when you try to deny the truth it gets you no where. There is evil in the world and you have to except it. What I'm basically trying to say is that you should base your taste in music on it's genre not on whether it's a Christian song or not. |
