um..i don't think buffalo's commit suicide..especially to "sacrifice themselves to the Gods" (my guess is they really don't comprehend all of that sorry)..there really isn't any other animal other than humans that do that. in order to kill buffalo, however, the native americans charged them off of cliffs. perhaps the writer feels that his heart is the "bitter buffalo" in that it is being forced off the cliff, the brain's fault. |

to me this song means that everyone is so scared of fitting in with each other..(everyone is so near..everyone has the fear)..and the song portrays feeling different than one has ever felt before and hence different than others during the spaced-out all-music no-vocals part (during the middle "big mess" part)..if any of that makes sense whatever it does to me and that is all that matters to me. it probably would make more sense if i tried to re-word everything and write this when i wasn't kinda drunk. whatever tho..radiohead is pretty amazing. |

About the same time this song came out, my girlfriend had to move from where we live about 30 minutes west of D.C. to Baltimore, Maryland. She had purple streaks in her hair. Before she moved I went up there to visit where she was moving (it's her mom's house). The night I stayed there we layed underneath the stars, and just like the lyrics in this awesome song from this awesome band, I had to watch her float away. |
