I think this song is about being attracted to someone physcially. Yet, as in real situations, Rivers shows that sometimes you get so wrapped up in the physical attraction that you start attaching real emotions to the desire. Eventually, you may get with the person, but in the long run, there was never anything there, leaving you hurt. But at the time, you're focused on that attraction and dont see the potential hurt!

When I listen to this song I can imagine everything they are doing**your legs are smooth as they graze mine...the sound of the radio, dim of the lights**...its crazy, it puts me in this surreal dream state! This song describes the one defining night that every relationship has...I listen to this song and wish that I could be in a relationship just like this one!! |

i agree with shel-b on the issue of judging people. I've been judged so many times for the way i dress or what i listen to. But what it comes down to is that you do have to know whats in a persons head. No one knows what they like or what they are capable of until they are exposed to something new. But at the same time i agree with onemorelastchances example of bands changing for example blink 182. And to mexicoisevil...i think that when someone is trying to introduce their music, they need to test the waters first. Alot of bands start out as pop and then go back to their roots. You have to introduce yourself to the public in a form that they are familiar with. Once you have their attention, you can let loose. It also has to do with record label politics and blah blah blah...but in the end it goes down to the band remaning tru to his/her self. |

I really like this song...its probably my favorite NFG song. I think its about a guy who's best friends with an awesome girl. BUT he didnt realize how awesome she was, or how much he needed her until she got involved in a realtionship.**have i waited too long have i found that someone have i waited too long to see you ** He discovered his romantic feelings for her when it was already too late! Now he feels dumb bc he knows that he missed his chance at something great. Its that old line, you dont realize what you have until you lose it.
P.S. Sick and twisted I dont think its about breaking up...like I said he regrets not realizing that he coulda had a realtionship with his friend while she was single |

The meaning this song has for me is similar to what some of the other ideas i've read. Basically what I derived from it (as a gurl...seeing if from my perspective) is that the song is about a relationship. One person doesnt realize that his/her actions and words are hurting their partner. Their words, although they dont realize are ruining the relationship *listen here's the pleasant part, you and i we fell apart....some things are better left unsaid*
Anyway, so the realtionship is suffering and the person who is beng hurt wants desperately to end the pain *If I told you this was killing me would you stop?*
Anyway, the first time I heard this song I was in a situation in which I was able to relate this song....you guys may not agree with it...but thats what makes this song so awesome! |

I agree with the idea that MTV is the sell out. MTV stands for MUSIC TELEVISION...less than half the time they are showing irrelevant programming. Secondly, I also hail MTV2. They are truly the only MTV station that is still all about the music. And fruther! I DO NOT think that Chris is a sell out for letting MTV play his music. In the first place, its on rotation on MTV2 the channel that is actually worth watching...and secondly, for someone who does not get alot of air time on the radio, MTV2 is a good way to get his music heard. His music has such a profound message and touches on SO MANY real situations, that I cant see anything wrong with getting people to hear it. Although I resent the falisified fame that some people obtain by allowing MTV to play their music, I think that dashboard has such a strong core of fans that all that "HYPE" will never take hold with his music...OK I'm DONE RAMBLING!! |

I just think this some is about someone going through rough times. Where you feel like you have no one you can tell, because no one will understand...
