i'm not sure. pitchfork is horrible and i don't believe a word they say anyway. to me, i've been "leaking" like a garden hose makes more sense than "licking" even if this song is about what i think its about. |

a lot of califone songs seem like really random, abstract fragments that are put together to form a song. i think this song shows how wonderfully it works.
although, i thought i heard "off the white of your eye" and "fall in brail"? also just "wash in a fountain."
also, i thought "a broken feel" was "a broken field" but feel sounds good. |

if beauty can be heard, then it can be heard in this song.
the lyrics are amazing. also amazing is how the word "glow" is faded into the instuments before the long instrumental part so that really it sounds like he's saying the word "glow" for two or three minutes!! and i still notice new things everytime i listen to it. brilliant & beautiful. |
