If it is just about revenge, there seems to be no comment on the wrongness of killing someone. And the fact that he says 'shoot her one more time' seems to be condoning it. And no one here has mentioned that either... except to say that the bitch deserves it...(joke or not) hmm, distuuurbiiinng |

I thought, for some reason he said either 'no politics, no history' or 'not politics, not history'. Is he saying he does or doesn't want to learn these things? (i mean obviously i'm not taking that to mean he doesn't care about politics and history, just that he wants to focus on simple and basic things about the world)
I also thought it was 'each wanting the next one to arrive' rather than 'each one and the next one to arrive'. Anyone know for sure and/or agree or disagree? |

I thought he was saying he was a goddam hypocrite because he makes himself ill through drink etc. over and over again then prays he doesn't die despite knowingly let himself get into that state. |

Isn't it "sing as static with the whole"? Surely 'sing a static' makes no sense. I also (chuck chillout) don't think he's advocating this as how you should live, I think he's more commenting on the pressure society puts on us to conform and not to stand out in anyway or do our own thing. This verse reminds me of the line "Don't be a criminal in this police state, you'd better shop and eat and procreate. We've got vocation days and you might escape to a condo on the coast." from Easy/Lucky/Free off Digital Ash. I think he's saying a similar think (sarcastically) here. |

prettyplease...sorry if i seemed a bit harsh, i was just a little taken aback by the way a lot of people seemed to assume angelic things about brandon boyd's personality from his music alone. and i meant that he could be not so perfect, not that he necessarily is. |

my dad bought 'the unaccompanied voice' cd and that's how i heard ptl! love this song. my dad thought it might be about divorce...like a court case where 'sing' refers to telling on someone, ie telling lies in court. to designedtohide - song a is a kind of upbeat version of this song and has different lyrics, the 'i'm tired of losing when you sing.....do you really think you're winning?' kind of adds to the whole court case divorce idea. song b is the quiet piano version which is basically the same as breadwinner you but has a little added bit at the end - to staygold, my computer says song b, the piano one is from "residence (UK)" album. don't know for sure. as for breadwinner you, designedtohide, this is an a capella version of the song from "the unaccompanied voice" which is, as far as i understand it, a compilation of the artists from ptl's label singing a capella songs. staygold - what was that blackberry song?!!!! Crazy! xxx |

my dad had an idea that this song might be about divorce or something. the bit about 'sing like the angel that you know you'll never be' could be singing as in telling on someone...kind of thing, like lies she might be telling in court. could be :). to designedtohide, song a and song b are two different versions of this song which are both slightly different and use different lyrics. this song was an a capella version off a cd called "the unaccompanied voice" which is a compilation of different artists off ptl's label singing a capella songs (i think) that my dad bought, and thats how i got into ptl...i love this song! |

Hey,
Well..i don't think this song is disappointing or anything cos it's about sex, i think it's a great song. BUT why the "pink tractorbeam into your incision" line??? The rest of the song may be tasteful and beautiful but that is NOT. VULGAR :S. So yeh, i kind of think that line damages the song somewhat.
Also, what makes everyone think incubus/brandon boyd couldn't possibly be being vulgar/shallow etc. Has anyone seen the "are you in" video?? whether or not there's something i don't get about that song the video is tasteless!! And hey, has no one ever noticed brandon boyd being overly concerned with his appearance/chest??? he's not a god :P, he might even be a really crappy person. Who are we to judge??
sorry..wasn't meant to be a rant :)

well....hmm. it sounds to me like he's getting veeery slightly annoyed at someone who is very slow to make a decision or do..erm..something. yeh a certain shade of green as in a traffic light. he's saying they're being soooo slow that they probably wouldn't even go if they saw a green light...but wait for a certain shade...ahhaaaah. yeh, i'm BAD at explaining things. |
