| Converge – Last Light Lyrics

i know that it's "soul survivors" in the lyric sheet, but i really think the first line would be a lot better and make more sense if it were "sole survivors." i can understand what "the strength of sole survivors" would mean. imagine being the only person to survive some sort of disaster and the strength it would take to go on despite so much death around you. "soul survivor," though, means nothing to me. semantics aside, though, this song is perfect and, to me, the way Converge should sound. |

i think it's "you made a holy fool of me, and i begged you ever since."
since the tour with Minus the Bear, i had been dying to hear this song again. the line about pumpkernickle bread had been stuck in my head since that day, but i had no idea how good the "the trap..." line was. that is probably my favorite aaron weiss line of all time. |

it's funny that the first dude to comment on this song said that the new CD doesn't sound like "that in reverie shiz," when this song has a very In Reverie feel to it. the new CD definitely does rule, though. |

i don't know about some of these lyrics. i am fairly certain Chris says "to surround me," and not "to some family."
either way, this song is incredible. |

a little too similar, eh? |

i think it's "never knew the moon could be so big," the moon being his disorder, referencing lunacy and its connection to the moon. |

| Cake – It's Coming Down Lyrics

perhaps perhaps perhaps this song is about the end of a relationship [aren't they all? no. sarcasm. yes.] the guy in the relationship has some sort of personality trait that annoys the woman to the point of leaving him.
maybe i just think this because it fits me, but it seems like that trait could be an overuse of sarcasm or something. "she's asking you why you think it's funny." he can't be serious about anything, and so she is leaving him. it's finally come down to that. |

| Cake – Race Car Ya-Yas Lyrics
|
uhm...amerca's preoccupation with material things?
"race car ya-yas" being motorheads.
maybe "the land where you can't change lanes" implies futility in terms of making change in the world because of the country's obsession with being bigger, stronger, and faster, like a race car ya-ya. |

| Cake – Commissioning A Symphony In C Lyrics
| 22 years ago

i don't know anything about music theory or anything, so this might make me sound pretty dumb...but...
might there be some sort of rule that says a sympony can't be in the key of C, thus, the symphony being written in this song "defies all earthly descriptions" of what a symphony can/can't be.
my friend thinks it just "defies all earthly descriptions" by just being a really well written symphony. he's probably right. he knows theory, and his dad is a professor of music. |

| Bright Eyes – The City Has Sex Lyrics

i've known this song for probably 2 years now, and i think this is the first time i've looked at the lyrics.
i'll never get over how good Connor is.
ps. the line "having exposed their wounds for each other" should actually be, "having UNDRESSED their wounds. . ."
and the line, "the sadness just sleeps and it stays in your spine for the rest of your life" should be, "it stays in MY spine. . ." |

isn't "quam" in the accusative case, though, which would make it a direct object?
if so, the translation would be, "i love who is a beatiful girl." maybe quam isn't acc...
i'll ask magister.
i'm in my 3rd year of latin.
considering majoring in it.
the name's spartacus.
and at any rate, this is probably my favorite song on Collection. Collection is; however, my least favorite BE album. i doubt i'm alone on either of these points though. |

also, i'd like to think that,
"everything's gonna be alright" is from bob marley's "no woman no cry," not some bryan adams song.
and "this is the end," i assume, is from the doors' "the end."
they're all pretty obviois. even to a 17 year old. |

it's old. i talked to adam a while ago, and he told me that this was before he was the singer. he played bass, and they had a different singer, and now that singer doesn't want them to play it live. there is no album you can find this on, unless you burn it, 'cause that's how they used to sell the demo. |

no you people are retarded. having an opinion is fine, even if it is a stupid ass one, but you people are still retarded. look at this crap. "needa" "WOW!!!THIS SONGS FRICKIN AWESOME!" "I LUV TALENA!!!!! WOO! ok, thas enough. hehehe!" "alot" "intitled" "alot" "there are an inspiration to me" "_~¤~_Mø®ßîз·Åñgë|_~¤~_ "
if you people could use words that actually exist, and possibly add a comment that actually has intellectual worth, maybe people wouldn't bash your stupid opinions. |

i think chris uses taking a piss as a metaphor for something that's evanescent. you know? the same as "someone who's more fleeting than fall." this whole song is about how this person came and went and changed so quickly. |
