'Back to December' By Taylor Swift
by simmy2011 on February 08, 2011Today I was tapping away on my laptop with my iPod playing in the background...suddenly 'Forever&Always' began to play. At this point I thought to myself "have a look on YouTube&see what she has been doing" on the homepage, as you will no doubt know, her latest music video began to play which is called "Back to December".
This song is clearly about how she has broken up with some as at some point she feels that it is the right thing to do. BUT... now that she has done it and the break-up has finally sunk in, she has realised how much she misses him and realises that "Freedom is nothing but missing you".
On August of 2010 me and my boyfriend of 20months (1&half years) broke-up as I decided I was going to try & go to university & with him being 24 soon to be 25 it wasnt fair to make him wait for 3-4years for me to settle down. But in November I changed my mind, I realised immediatly that I was a idiot for leaving him and his lovely family for a selfish reason that I had'nt completely thought through. We had a hard time getting together which took 6months of just seeing each other as friends as at the time it would have been classed as Inappropriate because we were both involved with the Air cadets; him as staff & myself as a cadet.
Anyway. . . .
I am now in love with this song, forget Bruno Mars: Just the way you are. This is a new level of meaning, this song isnt just about on level of a topic that everyone can relate to... This song is about the REASON for th heartbreak. about how you can break your own heart through the wrong decisions.
Even if you are not a fan of Country music or Taylor Swift herself; put them thoughts aside&listen to what she sings. Lines such as:
"Turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you"
"Wishing that I'd realized what I had when you were mine"
"You gave me all your love&all I gave you was Goodbye"
"So this is me swallowing my pride,
Standing infront of you saying I'm sorry for that night,
And I'd go back to December all of the time,
It turns out that I'd realized what I had when you were mine."
Come on...how beautiful are those words.
Either way...I love, love, love it!!!
