Can anyone explain all of the obscure references in this song? This has become one of my favorite Tom Waits songs and I'd like to understand it better. Saint Christopher is the statue on the dashboard to insure a safe journey, but "a 750 Norton at January's door?" a Norton motorcycle, but where? There are too many great lines to list. Where does he come up with this stuff?
