Why do people like Taylor Swift so much??? she has a weak voice...actually its a pretty terrible voice and she's not a spectacular songwriter. I mean sure, she writes about stuff that apparently 12 year old girls can relate to, although I have yet to meet a 12 year old who can relate to Romeo and Juliet.Of course, I am a critic of Shakespeare too, but that is for another time. I could write a song of the same quality of her's, and I could sing just as well as her if I borrowed her autotune. She's not the only sensational popstar today with little to no talent. I mean really??Miley Cyrus???she has absolutely nothing going for her!She is ugly, tasteless, classless, not to mention talentless. I don't really hate her, per se, but I do think she is vastly overrated. What is her appeal?? On a slightly more controversial subject...does anyone else think that the Beatles are a touch overrated??I feel like a lot of people just like them because society considers it blasphemous to dislike them. Every time I ask someone what makes them so great, the answer is always "They are the greatest band of all time!"Which is exactly the point I am debating. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they are half bad, I actually enjoy some of their songs I just don't believe they qualify as one of the greatest bands of all time. Anyways...I worked as a summer camp as a counselor last week, and I brought my iPod to one of my activities for the campers to listen to. I'll Be There by the Jackson 5 came on and one girl said it sounded like Justin Beiber. The staff member teaching the class and I just looked at her. How can you compare Justin Beiber and his synthesized crap to the Jackson 5?? Surprisingly enough...I'm not the music elitist who only listens to 30 year old songs that I sound like. I do like some many modern songs and artists. Airplanes by BoB and Hayley Williams is a great song. The Black Eyed Peas are fantastic performers. I like Rihanna, Taio Cruz, Jason Derulo, and some Katy Perry. I love "Teenage Dream" I also like the Fray, Shakira and Enrique Iglesias. However, Don't Stop Believin' will forever be my absolute favorite song of all time :)
