  • Reunited, and it feels so good.

    by l0vef00l on May 03, 2010
I was reunited with my high school friends last Sunday when out of the blue, I got a text from Stephanie asking me if I'm available that night for a night swimming. Jasper, one of my classmates back then is here in the Philippines for a vacation. (He's a US navy now, which I can't believe until now knowing how he was when we were still in high school. (long story! hihi. ) Oh well, people change I guess.:P) I initially declined because I was feeling lazy but Step was so persistent so I said yes. Also, it's been quite a long time since I last saw them. Too bad Ice and Jane can't go, and Elaine is still in Singapore. It was just me, Step, Liz, Jasper and his friend Gelo. We went to Calamba, Laguna and checked in to Splash Mountain Resort. It was kinda pricey but reasonable. (plus the boys took care of it. lol.) I liked our room and the resort's ambience. The pools although there are a lot, are kinda ordinary. We arrived around past midnight and was surprised to see alot of people still swimming. Most of them are youngsters. Maybe they're from Manila too and can't stand the heat in the city anymore? It's been really really hot this summer! I had a boo boo when I changed clothes in the washroom. I didn't notice the window is kinda see through. Argh. Good thing it was just them and I was facing back. We just laughed about it. Anyhoo, what else can I do about it, right? :D Us girls went downstairs right away to go swimming. Girl talk the entire time. :)) When we came back to our unit the two boys were nowhere in sight. We got a text from Jasper that they had to leave for a family emergency but they didn't specify what. Honestly, we're pretty sure they just went to a party somewhere cause we heard them talking on the phone to some girl about coming over. We hope we're correct. :) We didn't mind. We're happy to have our girl bonding. :p It looked like my entire weekend was spent catching up with old friends. Lovely! :)) And it turned out I got what I wanted anyway, aka the night swimming. Hurrah for that. :D Here are some of the pictures. As usual, I'm the most conservative. LOL!

  • Who's Next?

    by l0vef00l on May 03, 2010
I was supposed to go to a pool party last Saturday night but it didn't materialize to my dismay. :( I was really looking forward to that party. My friend, Mary backed out because of a date, plus her ex boyfriend will most likely be there with the present girlfiend according to her. And I understood perfectly. It can really be awkward. Although our other friend John, asked me to still go since he's gonna be there anway, I did not. I thought of going but I realized how tired I am when I lay down on my bed to take a short nap when I got home from the wedding. From work that day, I only slept an hour and a half and had to prepare already for a friend's wedding where I was a bridesmaid, and the reception's host. The nap turned out to be a twelve hour sleep. Phew! It was a welcome change from my usually 3 to 4 hour sleep everyday.

About the wedding, I honestly didn't see that coming. Rere, the bride was my bestfriend from childhood to early college. We were inseprebale, together with our other friend Tina. We practically grew up together in church. Things change when I started working. I don't to go to church anymore regularly. And now, I rarely go. Only on important occasions such as the wedding. I miss them if truth be told. But right now I don't think I can leave the way I'm living my life. Going back to church means I can't party anymore, can't smoke, can't drink, etc.

We, the three of us, used to talk and teased each other who will tie the know first. We are correct to predict it's gonna be Rere. She was so pretty that day. They had so little time preparing for the wedding but it turned out okay. It wasn't anyhting grand but it was beautiful. Every wedding I think is beautiful, or am I just a hopeless romantic? :) There were if I'm not mistaken 70 to 80 people only. Mostly the bride's relatives and church mates since Winson's (the groom) relatives are in the province. The entire ceremony if I have to describe it is light, casual and simple. Both groom and bride had their emotional moment especially during the part where they're saying their vows to each other. I guess one can't help it, Even some of the guests were teary-eyed at some point. Eherm. :p I don't know Winson that much. 'Was only able to talk to him on few occasions when they were still bf-gf. My instinct is telling me though that he's gonna be a good husband to my friend. Well, he better be. :P

It was so nice catching up with old friends. It's tru that if the friendship is geuine, it will never go away even if you don't see each other often. Here are some snap shots of the wedding:

By the way, I got the fuckin' bouquet of flowers. Don't tell me what you are already thinking. Hell no. :p

  • TAKEN.

Again, sleep was elusive today. Summer, which is supposedly my most favorite time of the year, is beginning to get in to my nerves. If my memory serves me right, this has been the hottest summer ever! I went home yesterday around 10am hoping I can go to bed early and make up for the days I wasn't sleeping. (note: sorry for the confusion, I work at night.) Went I went home, guess what? We do not have electricity. The transformer in our area apparently gave up. I can only imagine why. Good thing it rained later in the day, I was able to get about 3 hours of sleep before finally prepping up for work. Needless to say, I am once again a walking zombie in the office tonight. Thank God tax season is already over, the volume of calls that we've been receiving subsided a notch down. Also, I'm kinda happy about my pay check. Weee... The shopaholic in me is already thinking about the things that I'll buy while I was widthrawing earlier before coming into work. :p But the highlight of the day happened in the pantry. Is it wrong to crush on a family man? Hmm, yeah, it's the guy I was telling you about in my 37 weeks entry. He was already there when I came in to wash my mugs. We shared the lavatory, the sponge, the soap, an the water. Haha. He was rather playful, teasing me about washing his mug. But of course, always the nice guy, he let me finish first. Until now, I don't know what his name is. Or does it matter anymore? SIGH. Every guy around me seems to be unavailable already.

intro to a sunshine pic: One of the advantages of jet lag, besides having extra time to reflect on life or some time to read tons of paperbacks in the middle of the night, is the opportunity to watch the sunrise sitting on the windowsill while the whole world is sleeping…

I am a commuter. Been one for as long as I can remember. From cabs, fx's, buses, jeepneys, MRTs, LRTs, tricycles, to pedicabs, I've ridden them all. And if there's one thing I hate about my beloved country, it's the terrible traffic situation we have here. Most specifically the lack of discipline of the motorists. Add the futile attempt of traffic enforcers. I don't know if I'm the only one who feels this way but sometimes whenever I'm stuck in traffic, I conclude right away that somewhere, there is a traffic enforcer controlling the flow of traffic. I was reading CNN when I read this article about a guy in England who was charged 66 pound ($100) plust costs, for taking his pet for a stroll while driving next to him in his car. "Prosecutors said Paul Railton was spotted driving at low speed along a country lane, holding his dog's leash through the car window as the animal trotted alongside." He was "walking" his dog but was too lazy to actually walk with the dog apparently. "He pleaded guilty to not being in proper control of a vehicle." He admitted that, " it was a silly thing to do and there was an element of laziness." It didn't struck me that the guy's attention was caught by that incident., I'm pretty sure that our mighty law enforcers would have done the same. I wasn't surprised that he was charged on that account. I'm sorry for being so negative but what's running in my head after I read the article is that if this happens in our country the guy could have been let go for P500 or less and it would never reach court anymore. Only in the Philippines, right? Another thing that strucked me is the fact that aside from the fine he paid, he also received three penalty points on his license and, due to existing points, is now barred from driving for six months. I know that in some countries, especially European countries, the motorists receive penalty points whenever they commit a traffic violation. And they are barred from driving when they reach a certain number of points. Also, before they can drive again they need to take and pass a series of tests, written and practical, before the can drive again. Personally speaking, I can get a driver's license without taking any tests. This is how crappy and corrupt our system is unfortunately. I'm not expecting for you to go with me here cause you might think this is too much. But what if we have a sysytem like that? What if having that kind of system makes everyone more responsible especially on the road? This is exactly what we need to adopt if we want to save the traffic situation here in our country, specifically here in Manila. Actually, not just traffic, but also the lives that are taken everyday by vehicular accidents here and there. It's disheartening to learn that an individual, or a group of individuals got killed because of some "kaskaserong driver". Laws like this is what we need to immitate, not their shows, nor their movies, nor their fashion. There are far better things than those. When will we ever learn?

I had this thing with a guy at work. Technically speaking we aren't workmates. He's from another account, we are just under one company. It's not anything serious or anyhting you imagine. We just used to share the office pantry during our breaks for a good couple of months. Apparently, we have the same break schedule. It started one night when I came to the pantry to eat. He was already there, eating. His looks immediately strucked me since I've always been attracted to bald guys. He was nice, even gracious enough to offer me his food. I just smiled, and said "no, thank you." He offered again and said there's plenty enough for two. I produced a firendly laugh. That's where it started. We woud share the table almost everyday. Both of us eating, sometimes me eating and him just watching TV, or him eating and me just drinking coffee. We would talk about what's currently on TV sometimes. But most of the times we just sit there together silently, minding our own business. When we see each other outside the pantry, we would smile at each other or raise our eyebrows in recognition. There was even one time when I wasn't able to take my break because of a long call and when he saw me later in the day he said, "there you are!" as if he missed me. *kilig to the bones!*buterflies in my stomach* Things changed when their account was transferred to another floor. We barely see each other. No more pantry "rendezvous". I kinda missed him. I sometimes see him downstairs during smoke break. But he's always with his colleaugues and I with mine. One time I was in the elevator with him but it wsn't long enough when somebody entered in. To my surprise, the girl called him daddy. He just smiled in response and went out thereafter. The second time we shared the elevator, we didn't smile or look at each other. It felt awkward atleast for me. I don't know about him. Then the same girl, now with another girl entered in and they called him daddy, again. My speculation was confirmed when one of the girls asked him how old the baby is to which he answered, "37 weeks". I wasn't heart broken. Just a little disappointed. Come to think of it, we don't even know each others name. :p
