• Plans for the Future

    by MonicaMichelle95 on April 16, 2010
When I graduate high school, im determined to make something of myself and do something I really love. That is why I would like to go to a music collage. Its going to be a lot of work! But im ready to do whatever it takes. Ive been working hard actaully, taking extra music classes at school, getting involed with drama and chorus and practicing at home. And I also spen a lot of time on this website because I think it strengthens my understanding of msuic and helps me learn about what other people think of my favorite music. I also study music theory because I think its important and and music history so I can broaden my horizons and knowlegde. I dont quite know what I want to specifically but i do plan on moving out to New York City when im out. I think maybe ill open a record label or maybe even be a musicain. I guess ill decide once I get there. My past, and even my present, have been very rough for me but im working towards a higher goal. If ive learned anything in life its that you cant keep living in the past because it just slows down the present and completly stops the future. And I wont let that happen.

  • Think About This #1

    by MonicaMichelle95 on April 16, 2010
Think about a music genre. Now think about a band within that genre. Now think of an album from that band. How about a song from that album? Now think of a lyric. Now think of the meaning of that lyric. Where does it send you? Do you think this lyric could have a different meaning for someone else? What DOES it mean? Do you even know? Do you even care? You must if your here. Those are just some questions to ponder when your thinking about msuic.

  • Some Thoughts On Music

    by MonicaMichelle95 on April 16, 2010
Sometimes I wonder how music has become what it is. Since the dawn of time people have created sounds for enjoyment. But the real question is, when did it become so passionate. Even in the buroque time preiod, where people created symphonies and orchestras, there was emotion and feeling in the music. Music has deffinatly evolved in my eyes. It's shows every side of the world there is. There is music that expresses the wonderful things in this world like sunshine, love, good memories and life. Other music reminds us of the bad side of the world. Thing like war, hunger, deppression, loss of loved ones and murder. That just shows how much music understands the world for who she really is, an extrordanary place with multiple personalities. That's what I see the world as.

  • Song Writing

    by MonicaMichelle95 on March 20, 2010
I often try to write songs and a lot of the time I dont know what theyre about until im done. But I try to keep all of my songs as deep and meaningful as I can. I think every good song should have a meaning. Something strong that we can all hold on to. And many artists have captured just how to bring that to their music and touch the lives of many people. Some of my favorite song writers are Breaking Benjamin and Mayday Parade. These bands both have indeniable talent, espcially Breaking Benjamin. Ben brings passion to his music and unbelievable lyrics. But I think it's important to be able to put your own meanings into your songs and let it take you to another world. Cuz if it does for you, then it will for someone else out there too.
