i listened to this country song the other day and it was crazy because i went through the same exact situation myself. the song "when the sand runs out" talks about a man who is standing at an old friends grave and decides that he will live his life to the fullest and be "running when the sand runs out". i did the same thing the only difference was i was standing at the grave of a cousin who died and i made myself the same promise and up to this point, i can honestly say that i've done a good job of holding my word.
