  • BEST BUY

by ColdIvory on April 12, 2010
I love and am disappointed in Best Buy. I have gone to at least 5 stores searching for The Graduate's album, "Anhedonia." Sadly, neither Target nor Best Buy have them. Also, (and I found this odd) neither have FM Static's CD, "Dear Diary" either. Weird. But, (YAY GOOD NEWS) I did end up with Train's "Drops of Jupiter" (who DOESN'T love that song?!) and Three Days Grace's album, "One-X", the latter of which has "Riot," "Pain," "Time of Dying," "Animal I Have Become," "Over and Over," "Get Out Alive," and "Never Too Late." Wow, that was a lot of songs. Aaaaaand.... that's about it! Have a nice day! ~Gallow

  • Alakrity, You're So Sweet

by ColdIvory on April 05, 2010
Funny story, this. Anybody listen to Pandora? You type in Thriving Ivory and you get Parachute, you type in Coldplay and you get Thirteen Senses, you type in Breaking Benjamin you get Disturbed, you type in "Roses and Butterflies" you get... "Abbey's Song?" Well, I hate to say it, I really do, but my friend and I were listening to Pandora while writing our book, and "Abbey's song" by Alakrity pops up. Well this is weird as hell because MY F$#%ING NAME IS ABBEY. SPELLED RIGHT AND EVERYTHING. AND I AM IN LOVE WITH THAT F$#%ING SONG. "Well the one thing she knows is that there's got to be hope. When she lets it all go in the moment, she knows it. There's more to this life then living just to get by Still, she wants to know, wants to know Wants to know why." Made. Me. Cry. Still, loving it. Loving it.

  • Thirteen Senses, Gary Jules, The Rocket Summer, OH MY

by ColdIvory on March 30, 2010
Lessee... I've let my songs pile up ;-_- I've recently bought... Into the Fire by Thirteen Senses. BEST PIANO OPENING EVER. I'm trying to learn it~ The lyrics are really nothing special, but very very good instrumentals :D Mad World by Gary Jules & Michael Andrews I've loved this song for such a long time, but now I've finally bought it. Just a great song to chill to ;) And... quite a while ago I acquired the new Rocket Summer CD, "Of Men and Angels." I think I'll write a song-by-song review, so if you're interested, keep your eyes open! That's about it... I think. Still yelling at Thriving Ivory to get their new CD out. They promised it early this year ;_; ~Gallow

  • I luuuuuuuv u Ben!

by ColdIvory on March 18, 2010
HOLY. HELL. Pardon my French, but HOLY HELL. The "Give Me A Sign" video (Breaking Benjamin) just came out a few days ago and it is probably my new favorite video. And I thought nothing could top Ben's "Don't you cry" face in the "So Cold" video. If you haven't watched the video, please do. If you have, please pay attention as I rant about its awesomeness. The whole thing was MEAN. I'm a writer, and I like being mean to my characters, but duuude... the end was so MEEAAAANNN.... I loved it. But then again, hey, this is Breaking Benjamin we're talking about. And they ain't no Coldplay (I'm saying this because there is no Coldplay music video that I have fallen in love with yet. YET. I love Coldplay!!!). ~Gallow

  • ADDICTION.

by ColdIvory on March 16, 2010
I HAVE BROKEN MY OWN RULE. I have a #1 favorite song. *DIES* NO! Its true!!! "Roses and Butterflies" by Making April "As the roses lift their heads to catch a glimpse of my demise, You'll be throwing lies around like ocean waves throw down the tides." ORRRR... "I've been sleeping with the sunrise, watching hours pass away. Incedentally, I'm just waiting for the dusk to kill the day. But now I'm waiting for your call While I bang on this piano like you care at all..." ORRRRR.... "As the roses dip their heads a little further to the ground, there's a season change, and all the pinks and whites have turned to brown. Will we make it through the fall? Yeah, are we gonna make it through this fall?" *DIES* ~Gallow

  • Dear Jack

by ColdIvory on March 08, 2010
What is with all of this? Please tell me all of you have heard of Andrew McMahon? Jack's Mannequin? Something Corporate? This guy is a MIRACLE. This guy suffered through lukemia, survived, and writes some dang good songs. "Dear Katie" by Jack's Mannequin on the EP Dear Jack "Katie you're a brave girl and courage is something I'll need now. 'Cause it's been a hell of a day I've spent fading away We all fade sometimes, I believe." Sweetest lyrics ever. He wrote it for his sister.

I have become addicted to Copeland. They're breaking up ;_; Jeez, the best bands break up. I mean, Search the City, Copeland... uhumm.... Well they're good bands in my book. "Control Freak" is what did it. And "You Love to Sing." Two really great songs. Really great :D "Control Freak" ...'cause faith left me staring at the ceiling through the night. It's freaking me out. And when I fell asleep it plagued my dreams. And 30 bits of glass had become my teeth. They were breaking each and every time I tried to speak. It's freaking me out. That happens ALL THE TIME to me. No joke :D

  • More Coldplay!!!

by ColdIvory on January 31, 2010
Okers. I just found another GREAT Coldplay song. It's called "See You Soon," and I think it has surpassed "Fix You" in greatness. "Fix You" does have a better climax. I just love the chorus: "In a bullet-proof vest, with the windows all closed, I'll be doing my best, and I'll see you soon... In a telescope lens, and when all you want is friends... I'll see you soon..." So sad. Sooooo sad. BTW the LIVE version is better than the recorded version. BUT I LOVE THEM BOTH. ~Gallow
