  • I'm Not Calling You A Liar.

Life is absolute poo right now. I could blame that on the intense sunburn kicking in around m shoulders, lack of sleep, swimming carnival or my own decisions. I can't be bothered to decide which one it is, but i do know that if it wasn't for Florence and The Machine i would seriously be in some deep depression! I bought their album about 2 weeks ago along with 'Contra' by Vampire Weekend and put them on my ipod but i've been way to busy to have time to listen to them until this week. I've found every song on Lungs is just fukin awesome! They're all unique and Florence's voice gets me every time. She's got one amazing voice there's no doubt about that. I listen to the lyrics and they just sum up pretty much how i feel. One particular song 'I'm Not Calling You A Liar' has been on my replay list constantly. So while i'm moaning over how shit my life is at the mo and why it is that everyone else seems to have plans on the weekend except me, i've been pumping florence and she's making me feel better already.

  • Cousin

    by tj23 on October 29, 2009
I have a cousin who tells me about awesome bands which i look up and happen to love! I've never heard of the bands he tells me about but thats the thing...how does he find these bands? It gets me everytime, it could possibly be because he actually spends time looking up and reading different musical website and i on the other hand are way to lasy. Anyway some bands he told me about are Mumford and Sons- i love the guys voice and theres a banjo in the background kicking some awesome jam lines which suprising makes it sound even better. The second band is Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - i like it because to me its so energetic and positive. If i was home alone then this would definitley be a song to blast- just shut yours eyes and jump around. The third band is a band i've already heard of but i because one of their songs i wasn't to keen on i had never felt the need (or was to lazy) to take a look at any of their other songs. The band is the Pixies. The song of theirs is 'Hey'. I definitley like it and after haven't listened to them for a while i think i can listened to them in a different frame of mind. Well thats thats....and for my sake i hope he keeps giving me the heads up on more amazing bands! Maybe one day i'll find bands? who knows!?

  • New Moon

Today at work i was out the back and all of a sudden hear this song which sounds familiar to me. I search my memory and found that i had listen to the song on youtube once. The video i was watching was quick previews of songs that are on the New Moon soundtrack. Right at that moment my brain clicked! The New Moon soundtrack must be out! My heart literally started racing because at that moment i new i had something to look forward to later that evening- i would get to listen to the New Moon Soundtrack! Well i'm sure you are saying in your head 'woopy doo good for you' well yes very good for me indeed, you see the album contains songs from artists that i didn't think would really make it onto a major film like this Twilight Saga. Bon Iver, Lykke Li, Death Cab for Cutie - all i listened to before the soundtrack was announced. Its so exciting because when i read these films i can picture songs of my ipod fitting to the book and im sure this goes for many other people as well but i feel like i've one the lottery (well not really i'm exaggerating there) because my playlist has been chosen. Now, it hasn't really been chosen, but it's coincidental that the people that chose the music for the film have awesome taste like me!! Hehe its good to know i'm not alone in what my friends call 'that other different music'.
