Music is dead.
by Vexon on November 30, 2011It saddens me to look at my generation and see what most people are listening to. I can't help but notice that the most talentless, abhorrent musicians are the ones that are most popular and famous. I am of course speaking of the rap & hip-hop/pop genre of music that has plauged our society. Plauge is the most accurate word to describe it too, because the music itself spreads like a fucking disease.
I find it funny when I ask my friends who actually listen to that type of music why they find it so interesting and I hear the same retort every time, "I don't listen to the words I just like the beat." It is very hard for me to understand this point of view because I am one to appreciate the lyrics of a song and embrace them into something I can relate to. When I hear these songs about going to club and doing epic amounts of drugs I can't relate to this lifestyle. At this point I'm guessing you are wondering what type of music I generally listen to. I gravitate towards the metal side of the house, but I am not a metalhead by any means. I don't dress like I'm homeless or like I'm revealing my teen angst. I just hate the fact that my generation is subdued by the most distgusting filth of the music industry that I could ever imagine. I am currently listening to Hopesfall, an amazing band that has something I can relate to embedded in their words, not some fake ass gangster shit that I want to kill myself everytime I listen to. This is just a rant and I'll probably get some shit for this but I really don't care, music is fucking dead.
