Here I Go Again
by Whatdoyouthink on June 04, 2009Seriously, the first time I heard this song, Madi Diaz (indie pop) sang it. I had a totally different impression of it than Whitesnake probably intended it to be. So this 70's band I just had to hear and watch... Whitesnake sang it differently. When they preformed it, it was full of implications of sexuality and intensity. Madi's version was sentimental and almost more defeated... Here are the two meanings that could be implied by the lyrics and different versions
VERSION 1: WHITESNAKE: VID&LYRICS:
The full dimension of this song captures the essence of teenage, youthful men. Growing up and developing a sense of right and wrong, pleasure now, and pleasure later. He wants what he wants but he almost doesn't know what he wants. His intentions are pure but his actions and follow through aren't. He goes from girl to girl incomplete...
VERSION 2: MADI DIAZ: LYRICS:
She sings this in a way that the listener can grasp a deeper meaning to the LYRICS. I understood that she’s wandering through the world like a drifter (not with relationships… just living life). She’s finally found a purpose and made up her mind to not waste her life away with material things and idol relationships but to ‘stick to her guns’, live her life as well as she can and if the right one comes her way, she would have waited for that love and given it her all as well. She’s ‘waiting for love’s sweet charity’ and everyday waking up facing the fact that she’s ‘walking along the lonely street of DREAMS’.
