When you make it seem like it's the be all and end all, it makes me wonder. Are you really that shallow?

I'm just sick of following the way of this messed up world. Money and looks shouldn't mean the world. Celebrities and getting high shouldn't mean the world. Life is about living. It's about living the highs and lows and experiences. But your life should never revolve solely around someone else. Someone like your child, I can see a measure of selflessness coming in. But a high school relationship? A celebrity? A stranger you think you know? And you can try and make me feel better by reassuring me that everyone does this. I admit that I have, too. But I want to stop. I want to live my life for me.
