by JasonBelieveMe on December 01, 2008No CommentsI live in Seattle. It gets dark at 4:00 here.
Absolute Favorite Music: Anything by Spencer Krug, Anything by Zach Condon, Anything by Jeff Magum.
Other Favorites: Department of Eagles, Francois Virot, Matthew and the Arrogant Sea, Chad Vangaalen, Cold War Kids, Of Montreal, MGMT, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head, Deerhunter, Fleet Foxes, Crystal Castles, Crystal Antlers, My Bloody Valentine, Arcade Fire, Animal Collective, Panda Bear, Yeasayer, Alaska in Winter, Frog Eyes, Modest Mouse, the War on Drugs, Beach House, El Guincho, Parenthetical Girls, Destroyer, New Pornagraphers, Amadou & Mariam, Magnetic Feilds, Radiohead, Beatle, Talking Heads, and more.
And almost favorites: No Age, Beck, the White Stripes, Benoit Pioulard, Gnarls Barkley, Noir Desir, Foals, Devendra Banhart, Pica Beats, Feral Children, Blitzen Trapper, Au, Ruby Suns, Death Cab, Postal Service, French Kicks, Avi Buffalo, Killers, Virgins, Black Kids, Lykke Li, Ra Ra Rio, Grizzly Bear, Blonde Redhead, Spiritualized, Blitzen Trapper, Women, Iran, TVOTR, Shugo Tokumaro, Little Joy, HEALTH, final fantasy, M.I.A., Wyclef Jean, Kanye, the Walkmen, and more.
NOT favorite. DEFINITELY not my favorites: Gym Class Heroes, Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, Oasis, Kings of Leon
Favorite live shows: Of Montreal, Cold War Kids, Man Man, Beirut, Modest Mouse
Least Favorite Live shows: Fences (Don't SPIT on your GODDAMN dumkit), the Walkmen (sorry Walkmen, you were good, and I am going to see you again when you tour with Beach House, but who am I kidding. That was a bad show. Bumbershoot was not for you), Paramore (I only saw them by accident, and I mean, the actual performance looked good but the music was bad. so bad.), People that followed Paramore (you were the absolute worst and epitomized a stupid ass punk stupid band.), Chromeo (Ok, that was just a ridiculous show. I'm sorry. Why are you famous?)
Next live show I will see: Killers, Death Cab, CWK, Shiny Toy Guns, Aqualung at the 107.7 think. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE CWK AGAIN! and death cab! Ben Gibbard is a national treasure. as for the killers, you kind of lost me with this album, but if you play some of the old stuff i'll have a good time.
Kimya Dawson--Again. What can I say? Just wanna have fun at the Healthy Fun Times Club.
Little Joy--if I can get people to accompany me.

I don't know anyone who has my taste in music. Seriously. No one. I mean, I have my Of Montreal friends and my Neutral Milk Hotel Friends and my Animal Collective friends, but they usually stay pretty seperate. and none of them like Sunset Rubdown. If you like a couple of those bands, you're the best.
Bitch, now we're both laughing.
I don't think that anyone reads my journal, but if you do, I have a reccomendation for you. I've had this song on my computer for a while, but only now have I begun to listen to it. Please listen to "two" by the antlers. It's 6 minutes long, but listen to it all the way through because it's absolutely incredible--it's as tender and romantic and real as the best of indie pop. I haven't been able to find the lyrics online, but from what I can understand it's about two people from broken families trying to live together. If you don't have six spare minutes in your day, just listen to the gorgeous openings chords, as etheral and honest as the rest of the song.
