So noone wil actually ever read this, but I'm not bothered.

Today I went creative with my poor old squier stratocaster guitar, using a knife, saw, file and a water resistant pen. I had an unused fender humbucker pickup laying around for being replaced in another guitar a while ago, so I decided it was time to put this into the 3-single coil fitted squier. This meant I had to cut away some plastic pickguard to make enough room for it. During and afterwards this mess-making process I scraped off all the old drawings I had made on it because I thought they were ugly. Then I took this pen and wrote most of my favorite song quotes I could think of on it while shuffling through my mp3 player. All that's left now is to solder the inside parts together properly and then put the guitar back together again. I really wonder if it looks as nice as I imagined it would be. At the end of the day it's still a guitar I won't be playing on.. nothing to lose, right?

Work on my own album is going slowly but steadily. I've written a lot of words lately so it's now time to write some good music for them. A couple songs are demo'd already, even though it's only vocals and one guitar, and sometimes a piano synth. Being able to listen to parts of your own song this way makes me understand the whole process more and gives me a better picture of what needs to be added in each song. I'm planning on spending a lot of time on this project in the following weeks, because there is still a lot of work to be done. Also right now my studio is fitted with about the bare minimum to make recordings, I could definitely use a bigger mixer, a better condenser mic and some budget room treatment. But hey.. it's not my job, gotta keep realising that myself ;) It's good fun, for sure.
