It is with much difficulty that I try to do my part to save the earth. The difficulty I am refering to is the people I live with. Earth Hour, a global act in which you turn off your electicity for a mere hour doesn't sound too outlandish. Does it? Well apparently it is. It's so hard to be a liberal living with a house full of conservatives, but it is especially hard to do that while living in South Carolina. My "family" (as I am forced to call them) has this "Us and Them" attitude about Conservatives and Liberals, and that's how it's always been for them. That's how they were raised. But instead of embracing something that is a demonstration of how energy conservation could actually help our planet, they make up excuses about how the world isn't going to fall out of the sky anytime soon. Yes, they actually said that. Other than the fact that the Earth can't fall because the lack of gravity in space and the fact that the Earth isn't in the sky, there are many things wrong with that statement. Number one though, is that they have no idea whatsoever as to when the Earth might "fall out of the sky". But if it does, I hope they have enough sense to eat their words.
