Surprisingly enough, this is being written in the middle of the day, not late at night like usual. Well, it's Saturday, and around 2 we're leaving for Dallas on spring break. I know. Dallas, Texas. I don't understand it either. But we're going. But I have a new sleep playlist. *rolls eyes at self* Yes, it is entirely by Nightwish. What can I say? I'm a girl obsessed. I need to buy the songs of those other European metal bands I've been finding. Like Within Temptation. And Leaves' Eyes. *smiles* They're both awesome. Okay, back to the point. So the playlist was specifically designed to match any hyper feelings I have, then slowly tone them down. Four songs: 1) Amaranth 2) Eva 3) Sleeping Sun 4) The Islander The first is one of my favorites, and though is still heavier and decidedly metal, it calms me for some reason. The second is a little softer, especiallly at the beginning, but by the end it's sort of an epic metal ballad-type-thing. Relaxing, but I'm not pulling out all the stops just yet. The third is one of my ABSOLUTE favorites...listening to it is like flying. Or floating. And the last one is accoustic with a wonderful male lead (love you Marco), and it always puts me right to sleep. I can't stand up to that progression of songs. Everybody should try it. It'll put nature sounds out of business. Okay, time for the procrastinator to shower before 2:00 sneaks up on me.

Go listen to the song Far Away by Nickelback. I know, I know, Nickelback sucks because all the songs sound the same. Nothing like the Nightwish I've been obsessing over for the past month. But really, really listen to every bit of it. You can hear the passion in every word. The chorus makes me cry...I seriously get a lump in my throat because of it. And it fits so well with the book New Moon (second in the Twilight progression) that I can't get over it. Yes, did I mention that I read and love Twilight? Yeah, most girls do, but really, what's not to love? The other song stuck in my head: Over the Hills and Far Away by Nightwish (not Led Zepplin). Hmm, I guess that one's sort of similar, though I never really realized it until now. Tres interressant, non? They came for him one winter's night Arrested he'd been bound They said there'd been a robbery His pistol had been found...

I thought I'd like to get an entry out while my school trip to New York City is still fresh in my mind. Oh my god, it was AMAZING. Have you ever gone somewhere that's so perfect and exciting and funny and relaxed that you almost cry when you think about having to leave? I got to spend a ton of time with my friend Becca, who I met because we love music and stayed friends with because we love ALL of the same things (I swear, it's a little creepy). On the bus we listened to Nightwish with my iPod and discussed the stories and fanfictions we've both been writing in detail. The whole group watched Across the Universe (good but weird) and Enchanted (cute and funny and wonderful) on the nice bus TVs. We frolicked about Times Square and saw the Naked Cowboy, which I thought was pretty cool. Oh, and we went to M&M World, which was pretty fantastic if you ask me. We saw Hairspray, which can get annoying soundtrack-wise, but is really fun to see live. Oh! Here's the cool part. We got to tour NBC studios, and at one point we got to a glass window that looked down into the studio where they shoot Saturday Night Live. And at the moment, there was a rehearsal going on. And right there, practicing a skit they did last night, was CHRISTOPHER WALKEN. I swear, it was the coolest thing! Seeing celebrities in real life is impossibly rare for where I live, and this guy...well, I always thought he lived as an ancient immortal being in an underground cave, coming out every year or so to star in a major motion picture. He gives that impression. So it was weird and AWESOME to see him for real! I miss New York. I want to hop back on that bus and go back to the Embassy Suites and laugh at Cam as he flirts with the girls from another high school group and take more pictures of the big Phantom of the Opera billboard in Times Square and go back to F.A.O Schwartz to frolic like children in a candy store and see another musical and just BE with all those people again. School is going to be hell, after getting to miss all of Friday for the sake of the trip.
