Greetings. Salutations. Goodbye.
by verwer on January 22, 2008I don't know about anyone else, but to me it seems that conversations have lost their intimacy (no sexual referance). to me, conversations are a big deal, verbal contact can lead to great friendships. However, the conversation has been turned into a useless piece of social etiquette, like the handshake. most of the time we only have a short pointless conversation with people consisting of "Hey, how are you... Ya me too. Well, see you later." we don't talk to the person because we want to, we do it simply because we don't want that person to think we don't like them. It's slightly more than giving a head nod to someone in the hallway at school. Think about it, and the next time someone you know comes up to you and asks you how you are, actually let them know, don't just throw out some generic response. Try and have an actual conversation. Greetings, salutations, goodbye is not a conversation.
