Ah, peace. But anyway, to myself: Well, it's been about a year since the both of you have known or each others existance...Yet nothing's really happened. Either you've got the same fears in relationships or you're just really stupid. You want to just drop it and go on with life, but he's consumed such a large part of your still blooming life. Yeah, we all know how he confuses you to no end as well...He just sits there unmoving and..bored looking. Is he waitng for you to come talk to him, or completely still and harmless? He never goes out of his way to talk to you. He always makes you come to him. His ways of doing things like this make sense. By making people come to you, you find out what really will stay around you and what wants to be around you. But does he really want anything? No...It's seems almost as if he really doesn't. Too analytical and logical, he seems to have no tolerance for imperfections. Does he believe nothing is made for him? You're just wasting your time away girl, wasting your time on some depressed drug addict. Everyone else says so too. So you waited your entire summer for some kind of interaction with him, but he never really did anything. You still held on in hopes he would come around, not that it was desperation, hell you had five other options of people to love, Bret, John, Kevin, Matt, Spencer....And of course, you have no classes together. Wonderful. Wonderful Matt, who likes you too because he thinks you're the female version of Steve figures this out, and encourages setting up your Steve with another girl. And for your poor dying soul, at last you snap. You can't hold out like this any longer, even though you remember "please don't give up on me". You tell your friends. They insist you do something about it and they convince you. But just waltzing up to this kid you haven't talked to in several months is completely unrealistic and well...Stupid. But you have to do something. Anything after all that damned time. And eventually you pull your sorry carcass up to him and miserbally state your case...Miserably. You do exactly the wrong thing. Poor boy isn't even on the same page as you and doesn't even seem to take you seriously or notice your efforts towards him. He never comes back to answer your question. No....he just stays in that little room. Doing nothing. And it's still been that way. You can't just leave him there, you know he'll die again from his fears of loneliness...Yet, here you've got some of the best guys in the school that want to be involved with you. Keep waiting event hough you see that this will truly be a challenge? Even though he's a major self-abusive druggie and you're a smart AP artsy girl? Suppose time will tell. Back to more Efterklang.
