  • If You Like Folk Punk...

by Glass Hammer on March 24, 2008
Go listen to The Andrew Jackson Jihad right now. They're one of the best folk punk bands out there, alongside Defiance, Ohio.

  • Fields of Athenry

by Glass Hammer on February 20, 2008
I hope they play the Dropkick Murphys version of "Fields of Athenry" at my funeral. That would kick ass. OR, if that doesn't work out, have The Cure do a live version of "Plainsong."

  • Another Survey, Because You Love Them

by Glass Hammer on February 18, 2008
I'm sure you've seen this survey before: (IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER) [10 Favorite Bands] 1) Nine Inch Nails 2) Mastodon 3) Streetlight Manifesto 4) Marilyn Manson 5) The Offspring 6) Bullet For My Valentine 7) Senses Fail 8) Common Rider 9) Alice Cooper 10) Animal Collective Those last three took me a bit of thinking. [10 Favorite Songs] 1) Classics of Love - Common Rider (most amazingest song ever) 2) Somewhat Damaged - Nine Inch Nails 3) Blood and Thunder - Mastodon 4) Hearts Burst Into Fire - Bullet For My Valentine 5) Meet Your Master - Nine Inch Nails 6) The Fight Song - Marilyn Manson 7) Lost and Found - Senses Fail 8) The Priest and The Matador - Senses Fail 9) Disintegration - The Cure 10) Any Song - Streetlight Manifesto No order here, except Classics of Love. I think everyone should listen to this song at least once before they die. [Cut out the 'Most Played Songs' section because I don't keep track of such things] [Other] What is your favorite genre of music?: It's a tie between rock (any genre, pretty much) and ska.

I like Three Days Grace. I like Three Days Grace. I like Three Days Grace. And I'm not ashamed to admit it.

  • Flies Are Waiting

by Glass Hammer on February 09, 2008
The title comes from the song "Valentine's Day" by Marilyn Manson. Speaking of Valentine's Day, all of my friends are too busy trying to sweet talk their significant others (in a super-lame attempt to get into their pants) to bother hanging out with me. Fucking ridiculous, but oh well. At least I've gotten a newfound appreciation for "Bullet For My Valentine" out of this friend-stealing holiday. Their music is good. Like, really good. I'll add on to this with a later post.

God, I'm sorry. Your family needs to get some help, fast. You need to take this to the law enforcement. Seriously.

  • Mine's Bigger

by Glass Hammer on January 27, 2008
Wow, I've totally fallen in love with "Cigaro" by System of a Down. I can't believe I've never actually listened to it before. Gotta make a point to listen to more SOAD.

  • Tie Goes to the Mortal!

by Glass Hammer on January 25, 2008
"Dying people lie too. Wish they'd worked less, been nicer, opened orphanages for kittens. If you really want to do something, you do it. You don't save it for a sound bite." - Dr. Gregory House. I love this show so much.

  • The Red Carpet Grave

by Glass Hammer on January 18, 2008
"They call her Bulldozer speech demon Without distractions of hope She makes the depression business Look surprisingly novel And she's not just royal Allegedly loyal Not unfaithful but she has no faith in me..." Probably my favorite off of "Eat Me, Drink Me." It just seems so...poetic. Especially that first verse. Marilyn Manson aside, ugh, I feel miserable. Terrible headache, sore throat, congested nasal passageways. And to top it all off I have to go play at a basketball game tomorrow. At least tomorrow's the last day of finals. That'll be welcomed. I've been bombing most of them, anyways.
