• Trust me, you'd still be glum if you grew up here

This week's Kerrang! magazine's feature on Goth Metal mentions my good old home town. My friend was spasming about it yesterday, and i admit i found it kind of funny as well. While saying that Goth Metal as a genre started in the north of England in the early 90's, in brackets it mentioned that you'd be pretty glum if you grew up in my home town (which i will not mention the name of) then. XD You'd still be fairly glum if you grew up here to be honest. As a teenager, there are three popular choices. Either become a good student, do all your homework, dress normally if verging on the childish, and watch high school musical/play chess. Or listen to rock music, get a myspace and spend your weekends getting drunk and scoring pills. Or become a chav and spend your weekends getting drunk and scoring pills. The middle choice congregate in one of the great, much acclaimed pieces of 18th century architecture, and occaisionally you'll find a punk tripping on the floor, head leaning on a romanesque sandstone pillar. Eh dear. I'm feeling cynical. As Kerrang! also mentioned was a trait of my area. Pfft. I'm done.
