Kurt was the John Lennon of his generation, Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit became one of the most popular songs of all time overnight. Layne was the singer for Alice In Chains, an underrated band from the same grunge era. Layne Staley is, in my opinion, one of the greatest singers in music, possibly the greatest rock vocalist of all time. Now that the floodgates are open for hate mail from people claiming that James Hetfield is the greatest, I'll conclude with this: Both of you may be gone, but your music continues to influence millions to this day.
