Just me again, saving you from some depressing emo's journal writing about his/her feelings and how crap his/her life is that they nearly killed his/herself. I take the piss and make no apologies. I've got until the end of Grinning Mouths (Isis) to write something here. Bought 4 new CD's that the avid prog fan should (if you don't already) own. Amplifier - 'Amplifier'. To the point, fairly heavy, good album. Jesu - 'Heart Ache'. Two, twenty minute long tracks, excellent well worth a listen if you have the patience. Pure Reason Revolution - 'The Dark Third'. This really surprised me. Not sure what i was expecting from them. But it wasn't what i heard. Imagine a mix of Lacuna Coil vocals and God Is An Astronaut music, probably a bad comparison but it's the best i can come up with. The 4th album was a 65daysofstatic album, if you know and like them it's hardly worth a mention as it isn't anything massively different from anything else they've ever done. But if you're completely clueless and like Mogwai, God Is An Astronaut and/or Aereogramme then give them a listen.

As usual, interrupting the moaners that mostly post journals on this site. No one cares, or wants to read about how you 'feel'. Got it? In my previous post i think i mentioned Porcupine Tree and how i lost interest in them as soon as i found out they'd been sighted on Kerreng TV. Though recently I've had a change of heart regarding them. On trip to my local record shop I bought another one of their albums (Metanoia) out of complete curiosity. Upon listening to it, you can hardly tell it's the same band. Deadwing was quite blatantly made to sell. Other than that, the prog-rock scene seems to be moving quite slowly, at least from my point of view. Envy are the most recent band I've come across that are worth a mention. I'm at that point where i need a band i know and love to release an album. I think Sieges Even are due a release soon and God Is An Astronaut have just release album if I'm not mistaken. If not, I've been thinking of tracing my routes. I'm well aware of the likes of Genesis, Yes and Rush, yet I only own one album from either of those. (Genesis _ Invisible Touch, hardly their greatest) Anyway, boring as i may be. Just think, you could be reading some emo boy/girls (fad, trend whatever you call it, it will be gone in a few years we can only hope) deepest darkest feelings. So deep and dark and secret that they need to share them with the world on their blog. Damn i hate that word.
