Been on a bit of a binge lately, some good albums, one not so good album. Well actually terrible, unless i take complete leave of my senses and buy something in the charts, i wont hear a worse album all year. I couldn't even give it away and trust me, i tried. I can't remember the name of it, but for the love of god, stay away from a band called 'The Ocean'. Moving on... After ordering it three times from three different places and waiting six weeks, Amazon won the race to get Sieges Even: 'The Art of Navigating by the Stars' to me. But well, well worth the wait. Eight songs and over an hour long, my attention span is so vast when it comes to music that if a song is under five minutes it doesn't even register. Really. Picked up another album called Insomniac Doze by Envy, a Japanese band. You can't understand a word he's saying, but still sounds better than that thing in the band with the bloke from Russia, System or a something-or-other (Sarcasm? Me?). If Isis and Mogwai ever had a kid, Envy would be the result. When someone says "Well they sound like a cross between BandA and BandZ." to you, (Replace with actual band names accordingly) It's often not the case, but when i say Envy are like a cross between Isis and Mogwai, i really mean it. Listen for yourself if you don't believe me. I'm sure they've got a... What do you call it? My space. I actually got given a good CD by a friend yesterday, this rarely happens. By a band called Porcupine Tree. There had to be a catch, he couldn't find something like this before me... Not a chance. Then he slipped up. One of the songs had been on Kerrang, instantly killing my interest in them. Petty i know, but that's me. If it's on TV before i get to a band, it's not new. Off the shelf and unheard of, or not at all. Windmills do not work that way! Good night!
