Holy underwear! Short and sweet. Prog fans you must listen to the following bands, unless you already do ofcourse. Sieges Even and Riverside. They're both spine-shudderingly good. Dattebayo

Been a while since any new music came my way, i've been so occupied with Isis in recent weeks to even give anything else a look in. But after a trip to town and £20 i managed to find two absolute gems. The new Battles album, 'Mirrored' and '1/F' by a new band to me, Immune. Mirrored wasn't what i expected but still very good. A lot more musical than EP B/EP C and singing, if you could call it that, for the first time. They come under a category known as 'Math-Rock' apparently, which sounds rather odd until you listen to the music properly and realize Math-Rock, actually sums them up quite well. I understand that saying it's more musical probably sounds a little daft, of course it's musical. It's music right? But if you've heard their previous stuff, you'll get what i mean. EP B/ EP C had a lot of tracks that were just random sound for 3 minutes and maybe 4 or 5 tracks on the entire EP that you might consider songs. Mirrored is a little friendlier to the listener, though most people i play Battles to tend to get a bit scared by it and wonder why the hell i listen to them. 1/F by Immune, woah. Listening to this was like the first time i heard Oceansize's Effloresce album. From what i've gathered they'd been working on this album for 3 years or so since an EP that i really don't know much about or heard. On the cover of the CD was a review that had all the right words on it, comparing some of their elements to Tool, Oceansize, Aereogramme, Pink Floyd and Massive Attack. Out of that list they remind me most of Oceansize, Don't buy it thinking you'll hear another Tool. Listen to some Oceansize and Aereogramme first. I'm, very, very fussy about my music but i'd go as far as to say this is one of the best random albums i've ever bought. If you're bored of Isis and Mogwai and want some decent Prog-Rock to sink your teeth into, this is it. Well, for what my opinion is worth to anyone reading. Two highly recommended albums there.
