I freakin love Coldplay. Seriously. It was THE BEST night of my life. We walked in, expecting our $120 floor tickets to give us a good view, but nothing spectacular like a perfect view of the stage. We were 1 person from the stage, right at the front, completely unobstructed views of the stage, and soon, Coldplay. Firstly, Youth Group came on and played their relatively boring songs. The only one I really enjoyed was 'forever young' but that’s only because the whole arena was standing up and screaming the lyrics. I was getting all jittery because I knew that in like an hour I would be seeing my absolute hero (Chris martin) in the flesh. I have had a thing for Chris martin for years. When I first saw yellow on TV when I was like 9 I fell in love with Coldplay and their music, and especially Chris Martin since he has the most amazing voice I have ever heard, apart from Bono. So I had my $55 dollar Coldplay t-shirt on and my $5 badge, as well as like a billion 'Make Trade Fair' tattoos all over my arm that I got as freebies for signing my name onto the make trade fair petition. At around 9:10 the lights began to dim, and I got goose bumps and began to feel this weird elation and adrenaline. It was the weirdest feeling ever. At 9:15, the arena went black. I couldn’t see my hands in front of me and I began to freak out and pull on my friends t-shirt because my head began to get incredibly dizzy. Then it happened. The massive TV backdrop began to light up with a sort of Windows 95 screensaver (you know how you had those stars and windows come towards you? yeh those) but it was like the 'speed of sound' video clip as well because it was all colourful. Then I saw jonny, will and guy. Jonny was seriously 1 metre from me with his guitar, and he had this green hat on and he looked soo awesome. Then I saw him. My hero. Chris martin. All of a sudden square one began to play and I was in awe. Seriously I can’t describe it. My mouth was open and I was on the verge of tears from so much excitement. They then played a few more songs, which were incredible. Coldplay are definitely a live band. I don’t think you can ever get the real feel for Coldplay just listening to their album. The energy that they, especially Chris martin, have on stage is just mind blowing. They got the crowd hyped up (unlike youth group) and we were all swaying with our phones out and wow. I can’t describe it. Then yellow came on. And I actually cried. It is my second most fav song in the entire world (narrowly beaten by beautiful day - U2) and they played it so well. Jonny and Chris were like, right there. In front of me. If it wasn’t for the angry looking body guard in front of me, I could have touched them, seriously. Wow. Then they played more songs, and Chris was running around the stage, singing into the camera, looking at the crowd, sliding around the stage, dancing. Far out man. He is such an incredible musician. When Jonny sung in 'don't panic' it was so awesome, because he really is a good singer, and Chris was congratulating him for such a good effort and got us to applaud him (even though we already were.) Then more songs came on such as the scientist (phenomenal), kingdom come (amazing), clocks (incredible), X&Y (amazing), white shadows (extraordinary). And then they walked off stage. And everyone was like nooo! The lights didn’t turn on though, it was still dim. Then after 3 minutes of the audience chanting 'COLDPLAY! COLDPLAY!' and banging our feet on the ground they came back on and played 2 more songs, including talk. Talk was mind-blowing. Everybody in the mosh around me were dancing and it was like the entire pit was united into one, because of our love for Coldplay. I called my best friend during it (because it’s his fav song) and he said that it sounded incredible even over the phone. Then they played the last song, fix you, and Chris had that light thing (the same one in the fix you video clip) and he swung it around at the end and the whole crowd was going freakin crazy. This one girl next to me actually fainted during that bit. It might have been because she was sick and it was hot, but I want to believe that she fainted because of the sheer incredibility of the song haha. But yeh, then they thanked the crowd for coming, talked a little about how Australia beats the English in everything haha and then the entire band waved as they exited, and me and my friends were just in complete awe at the whole thing. Seriously, Chris martin was like, right there. I can’t comprehend it in my head. Right. There. Ohmygod. So on the way home from Brisbane we listened to Coldplay and sung along, and I was still wearing my sweat covered Coldplay t-shirt (most of it wasn’t even my sweat which was disgusting cos it got so hot in there.) It was THE BEST night of my life. Better than Blink 182 concert. Actually, it was a billion times better than Blink 182. Blink were like a bunch of people in comas lying on the stage compared to Coldplay. The only downside was that they didn’t play ‘hardest part’  but oh well, all up it was just absolutely incredible and I cannot wait until they come back to Australia! p.s. cant wait till U2 hehe
