I can´t say I ever truly just my faith, more like I just kind of forgot about it. But Live changed that. I´m probably in a very similar situation to Ed. I´m no longer a Christian, even though I was raised as one, but neither have I converted to any other religion, and more mportantly, I haven´t stopped believing in God. I have chossen my own path. I considered all those laid paths laid out before me and never could decide on a single one to walk down. Then one day I was talking to a Hindu friend of mine about religion, and he said something that almost knocked me over. "All path's lead to the same destination, some are just more complex and more difficult than others." Later that day I happened to come across this song, and it was simply putting into words what I was just beginning to realize. You don't need religion, you just need to let your soul go and find it's way home, by which ever path it may decide on.

Vietnam is my intrigue at the moment. I was fascinated with it as a war when I was younger, but now I am fascinated with it as an era. There is so much there that seems to have been glossed over by the history books. All they seem to cover is the drugie hippies and the war, the end. No questions asked, no answers offered. I almost feel like somone pretty much hit the delete button. Today I can meet the parents of my buddies and see upstanding, mainstream, and essentially boring people. They all seem to have put up this permanent wall on their past. I've never heard any stories, no memories, not even lessons. Nothing. 80's is a different story completely. It's not just the war people don't want to remember, it's that whole era. And I'm worried they'll get what they want, nobody's gonna remember what it was really like.

There is one thing to know of the world: It is temporary, it is dust, nothing's gonna last. Not one of us will leave a mark, not one thing our arrogant race does will leave a mark, nothing really matters here. There's a saying that says "Time heals all wounds." Oh no, no, brother, time's the greatest injury of them all, and simply dwarfs all other wounds into infinitesimality. That's the truth to live by and the one you will die by. Live life right. Live life with all you got, cause it really is all you got. By the way, the easy path sucks, so be a badass and put it in 4 wheel drive. The rocks hurt, but they're fuckin fun to take at speed. Peace.
