music journal
by imaginaryordinary on April 18, 2006what? you can blog on here too? just what i need...another thing to waste my time. Well I will just make this a music profile and if anyone is interested they can read it.
favorite type of music: folk music. I like songs that tell stories of individuals and historical events instead of music that just uniformly applies to everyone.
song that has most affected my life: Jimmy Eat World-Believe in what you want
favorite song: Come on! Feel the Illinoise!- Sufjan Stevens
Song that makes me happiest: Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games- Of montreal
Song that makes me saddest: Will I?-Rent or Celebration Guns-Stars
Weirdest song in my collection: I have a minor obsession with avant garde 20th century stuff, and I actually have a recording of John Cage's 4'22. (it consistss of 4'22 of complete silence) I think that also ties with Einstien on the Beach, a 5 hour minimalist opera about mr. bojangles, bathing caps, and nuclear annihilation, as far as I can tell
Favorite Band: Tie Between Of Montreal and Sufjan Stevens
Weird connections with band members: I went to school with Amy Lee of Evanescence. I was in the 7th grade so she didn't know who I was, but I was there when she debuted "listen to the rain," a song she wrote for our choir
Best concert I have ever seen: Matt Sharp, former bassist of weezer got really stoned and performed an acoustic show. There were only like 30 people there and we all brought our pillows and sat around him in a circle on the stage
Something musical that I am proud of: I helped plan JAMnesty, a human rights music festival for my college
Festivals?: I plan to go to lollopolooza this summer so I can finally see of montreal!! and a bunch of other amazing bands!
