New Pumpkins song released today called "Lightning Strikes" (previously titled "Zen Baby"). Very synthy, shiny and bright. I like it. I probably would've tossed in a guitar solo at one point, but I'm not the musical genius here. It just struck me as the sort of song that would build to a solo. It's a better song upon repeat listens. I like it better than both "Astral Planes" and "Spangled" at this time. It's a great addition to their so-called first leg. Billy has said that he feels like the first 10 free songs are songs that have similar feels and a similar mindset. This would be the 9th. This means that the next song released will be the last in this vein. He has also said he has the Big Muff Pedal out for the songs he is currently recording and that "It feels so good to rock again".

There's a journal entry feature!? All this time and I never knew. I may have to use it to gush about the Smashing Pumpkins, seeing as none of my friends want to hear it. Cool.
