Ratatat 9/30/06
by Imperialist on October 02, 2006Damn...I totally forgot about how I saw Pinback.
Anyway, this past Friday, I went to go see RatatAT play at Walter's on Washington. Tickets were about 12.50, which was a great deal, considering how other bands usually rape you nowadays (Yeah Yeah Yeahs at around 30 bucks? NO thanks.)
Huong came down from Austin, but sadly tiks were all sold out..
Surprisingly, it was a sold out show. I wouldn't have guessed Ratatat would sell out in Houston.
First up was Panther. A one man creation, he started doing his routine, which consisted of bizaare dance moves and bad singing. It was entertaining for what it's worth. I clapped probably about twice. Then it was Envelopes, a band from Sweden whom I've never heard of before. They played some mellow tunes and it was easy to get into.
Ratatat finally came out, and they started off with Loud Pipes. It was a great setlist, and they played my old favorite Germany to Germany. The venue was tiny, and the show pretty intimate. The crowd was pretty mellow. Here's a video of the action during Gettysburg.
Fantastic show overall.
