Damn...I totally forgot about how I saw Pinback. Anyway, this past Friday, I went to go see RatatAT play at Walter's on Washington. Tickets were about 12.50, which was a great deal, considering how other bands usually rape you nowadays (Yeah Yeah Yeahs at around 30 bucks? NO thanks.) Huong came down from Austin, but sadly tiks were all sold out.. Surprisingly, it was a sold out show. I wouldn't have guessed Ratatat would sell out in Houston. First up was Panther. A one man creation, he started doing his routine, which consisted of bizaare dance moves and bad singing. It was entertaining for what it's worth. I clapped probably about twice. Then it was Envelopes, a band from Sweden whom I've never heard of before. They played some mellow tunes and it was easy to get into. Ratatat finally came out, and they started off with Loud Pipes. It was a great setlist, and they played my old favorite Germany to Germany. The venue was tiny, and the show pretty intimate. The crowd was pretty mellow. Here's a video of the action during Gettysburg. Fantastic show overall.

And it's strange, I'm infatuated with a ghost. Wispy, non alive, airy, light, we talk just about every night, and it's painful sometimes, but I don't know. My nature is self torture because I cannot accept pure pleasure. It feels like he's my passenger when I'm maturing, emotionally and sexually. He's my significant other, right now.

Went to see Mogwai and Pinback. Mogwai May 6th, quit fantastic, though the last song, was ear drum bustingly loud. Played Friend of the Night first, then other tracks like Hunted By A Freak, and a couple of others. None were Cody or R U Still In 2 It, sadly. Pinback this past Friday. Nice, nice. They played Grey Machine, and Penelope, much to Henry's delight. Was at the Emo's outdoor stage. ~~~ Bloc Party & Sonic Youth coming up. I definitely wanna see both..but fuck, both are going to be pricey shows. But Sonic Youth, most definitely. Bloc Party, I bet will be PACKED.

  • Fucking Hell

All I know is that whenever I think I'm in love, it may seem like the *most* important thing I've ever felt, to have ever materialized, to have ever existed, but I know for sure that it's not. Feelings cloak over me, and I'm dumbfounded, that's just how I feel. I've never been a *proper* relationship in my life ever, and I don't know what love is, but I do have a pretty good idea of what it isn't. Life would be so much easier, sometimes, I think.. Anywho, the only person whom I thought would support me through my trials and tribulations have forsaken me, and it's such an odd feeling. Sometimes I feel rather numb to the rejection, but sometimes I just reject it again, and it sort of nullifies whatever void and pain that came from it. I don't know. I never know. I just think isolation wouldn't do me any good nor would it do me any more harm. Life is cruel. Do I accept what is given? Or do I fight back and make things right? How do I befriend someone..again? I miss my best friend.

And every time I try to pick it up Like falling sand As fast as I pick it up It runs away through my clutching hands But there's nothing else I can really do There's nothing else I can really do There's nothing else I can really do At all... ~~~~~~~ And away he goes

Man, first things first, I got a speeding ticket. 12 miles over the speed limit, I was crusing through a small town, and at the bottom of a hill a cop stops me. Ugh. I feel bad for people who get pulled over now, speeding is almost second nature. ~~~ Other than that, the drive there went well. Drove approx. 6 hours or so, and we rented a cottage, and slept there for the night. Nice cozy little place, the small town feel wasn't odd at all, it was really nice. Fossil Rim was really nice, the animals looked like they'd be good for eating. Woo. Stopped by Austin on the way back, spent some time with Huong and Chris. There was a copy of "Psychadelic Shamanism" on the coffee table. Lol. ~~~ Mogwai is pretty amazing.

Friday - went to Cirque Du Soliel's Delirium. It was pretty fantastic, the acrobatics and costumes, make you forget performers are actually humans. Satuday - went to the beach at night, got home around 3am ish. Sunday - went to see Body World plastination exhibit. It was okay, not as amazing as I'd imagine it to be. Tickets costed way too much to see lumps of plastic. Went to Niko Niko's and had Greek food. Delicious I say. Had gyros, pita and hummus. I'm so fucking sleepy!
