this site is really cool... I like it. My entries are always long ( what a shocker), but as my sister says "I'm just that into music" lol. ok, she doesn't say that, she uses it as an insult to say that she has better things to do with her time than keep up with hundreds of bands, have a music collection that fills the harddrive of my computer and keeps me distracted from my school work (damn uni) alot of the time. I keep up with local bands from the scene i go to, with my friend's bands, with indie bands no onw has heard of, as well as knowing random shit about random bands i don't even like (that's what working at HMV does to a music geek). Mu sister asctually said "well sooooorrry. I'm not as up on music as you are." I don't mind, its true. I read into music way too much. That's why my entries are more than "i really like this song" not that there's anything wrong with that... oh, wait, i'm not only a music geek, but a bit of an arsehole... so have a fucking opinion! say something real. say something deep. say what you feel. don't try to be all smart and go off about chord progressions or whatever, but say, well anything. If i was talking about the song "Rebeliion (Lies)" by the arcade fire, I might say something like "it sounds so good. indescribable. like that scene in high fidelity when jack black is listening to vincent and justine aka the little skate fuckers, looking depressed because their music is really fucking good." that actually gives it some content. or if I was reviewing "sugar we're going down" by fall out boy (hear me through), i'd say "i hate this band. With a fiery passion. I actually do have good taste in music, i swear, but this song... i don't know, it sounds really... cool. the voice is an instrument. it changes the song completely. it makes it complex and interesting, unlike the rest of the pop-punk genre, who's songs are boring as fuck. I know i shouldn't like this song, but i do". see? a good review with CONTENT. don't be shy reviews! say what you think. i don't know who you are, and i don't care... so take some time and put some meat (or if you're a vegetarian, some serious tofu) in you comments. now i have to get back to writing about roman spectacle in depression era films. can't wait!!!! -K
