My take on Deadwing is that it's a ghost story. A woman named Elizabeth is either killed, or thought to be killed. Either way, something's after her. Then there's David, an audio engineer who meets her. Now, you could take this either way, whether David happens to be her long lost son, and he is broken hearted to find out that she's dead, or they could simply be lovers.
