Woods of Ypres - Allure of the Earth
by LaDiablo on May 25, 2007The sun taunts you In everything you do Like a substance that works for everyone else But has no effect on you It shines for places You’ll never go It shines for people You’ll never know You believe that in your entire life You will never feel What it’s like So you turn away Dream about an escape A hole in the earth deep and cool That you could climb down into I despise the rising Of the upsetting sun I’ll hide away Until the day is done I’ll exclude myself A few months of every year To avoid the drama Of the sun, sweat and tears You could fall away And no one would know Release the tension of holding on Feel the high of letting go So you turn away Elude the pressures of the sun Go find your place in the shade Far away from everyone It’s so easy to get your fill When the engine turns and pushes in the dirt It’s so easy to be satisfied When all you want to do is lay down and die The Allure of the Earth Those dreams can come true When you make a deal with the earth Who says… “Here’s what I can do for you…” The Allure of the Earth When you are through with trying When you are tired and days are long Letting go seems so inviting The Allure of the Earth The desire to give up It is the encouragement When you are discouraged The Allure of the Earth When the urges aren’t worth fighting The temptations on the great beyond Become so excitingNo Comments -

by LaDiablo on April 20, 2007Led Zeppelin, George Thorogood, Skid Row, and... Snow... Which I suppose is a reggae band? 25 cents for the four =D. Tape form, but my car can only take tapes, so that's okay XD. Not my usual fare, but better than the Meredith Brooks Sandra left in the glove compartment. No Comments -

by LaDiablo on April 10, 2007I told myself a month or two ago that I was going to learn guitar. No matter how many infernal hours I had to spend on scales and the like, no matter how bad it sounded. I took it out of its case, told myself I'd play more often if it was staring at me from across the room, waiting... I haven't touched it since. It isn't even tuned. Wtf happened :(.No Comments -

by LaDiablo on March 30, 2007Ohman. Got ahold of a full Naglfar CD. Wuahh *drool*. I got this tip from a last.fm passerby, hinting that maybe I should add "megaupload" to the search engine when googling artists. I haven't found any Celtic Frost yet, but only because I've been so infernally distracted by the dozens of blogs handing out other impeccable CDs =P. I'm retaining my previous opinion of Iced Earth... Really not my thing at all =/. I'm slowly working the indie artists off my last.fm page. Some of them, anyway. I like Minus the Bear being on there. Sufjan Stevens needs out of my top 10. I hit last.fm at a bad time in my musical habits XD. The Spill Canvas have no right to be number two -- I like them, but not so much that they should be in my top five, even o_O. Lacuna Coil are making a major comebackNo Comments -

by LaDiablo on March 27, 2007I feel like a housewife XD. My mum's up for a few days, so I've been cleaning ( =O ), and it was my dad's birthday Sunday, so I've been baking. Toss a stint of work with lawyers and drama over unresolved civil affairs into the mixture and it's positively sitcom over here. Yay, court. -_- I finally moved my computer back to my room, so I had to listen to music on my brother's for a few hours, which spawned an account with Pandora. I don't like it =/. They can't seem to grasp the element of mood on their similar artists/similar songs stations. I put in The Gathering and ended up with The Beatles. Wtf? I put in The Hush Sound and came up with The Beatles again. Saetia got me nowhere. Circle Takes the Square isn't even in their directory. I gave up after that =/. I like the idea of Pandora, but it's faaaailing. What is appropriate musical taste to display to one's mother? *ponder* She's strongly into alt-rock, but that's JJ's forte, I really... ah... can't stand the genre anymore. No Comments -

by LaDiablo on March 03, 2007The Human Abstract show absolutely blew. But then THA came on =]. One Night In Paris were fucking bastards. Die To Yourself had some pretty obviously stolen riffs. The first band... I don't remember their name... just weren't that good live =/. Recorded most of THA on my digital camera. I wish it took better night shots =[. Hung out with them afterward for a little over an hour. They're such sweet guys. Dean is my idol =].No Comments -

by LaDiablo on February 27, 2007I think I've convinced my senior class to use Saetia lyrics for our class motto. Either "Reason defines us, beauty carries us, recognition makes us" or "Perception keeps us whole. It may just be time to look rather than merely see." I'm so proud =].No Comments
