• I always thought the song was about a Politian in London who made it up from the bottom by ways not standard tradition.  Highgate is a very rich blue blood Old MONEY area of England  ;  Many of the families who started the Jamestown and colonial Williamsburg investment  still live in the 300 years old Mansions .   relatives of those Families.
