Partners in Crime

  • Tried to suggest an artist to songmeanings database today, only to get a " failure" page!? Absolutely hate it whenever I try to submit something here and I am somehow thwarted from the system. Ugh.

Anyway, i wanted to transcribe the lyrics to a We Were Lovers (a group not on this site, but i had tried to add) song, my favourite of theirs as titled above, PARTNERS IN CRIME.  WWL is a Canadian electro pop duo, a boy and a girl. I really enjoyed their set in a live showcase couple years back with some musically minded friends. Their music was catchy, infectious, and most important, incredibly danceable. Up to that point, none of the other bands that previously played got me moving. WWL did, starting with WILDFIRE, the rock-ish beat spread through me like wildfire and I was dancing up a storm! Really made my night.  Also bought their bookmark as a souvenir.

I really hope they put out a full release including these songs. Ever since that encounter there hasn't, however it seems I dont have much longer to wait as a full length will be released later this year. Finally!

    Hear them on CBC radio:

On to the lyrics! Hope I got them right....

    PARTNERS IN CRIME Lyrics

    Light, flashes of love

    Flashes of hope,

    all surrounded

    Light, turning to day

    Turning to night

    And we're getting older

    Oh,

    Radiant light

    Light of our life

    Have you felt it?

    We're  partners in crime

    Doing our time

    All together

    Don't you break it,

    Don't you break it,

We can make it last forever

    Oh oh light

    It shines so bright

Oh oh light it blinds the night

    Tonight you shine, you shine

    Don't you break it,

    Dont you break it,

    Hearts are blazing,

    It,s now or never
