I thought I'd just write why I call John Mayer by a nickname of "Jammer." I had this dream that I saw him in a bookstore, and nobody knew who he was. So I walked up to him, introduced myself, and before using his name, out came, "Jammer." We spoke for a while, I invited him to have tea with me (because I knew he wasn't a coffee drinker in my dream), and we went to a tea shop a few minutes away.
The first thing he asked me was, "Why Jammer? Where did you come up with that?"
"It's a bastardization of your name, I replied. If you say your name with a good strong southern accent, you get something like, ja-Mare. If you say it fast enough, ja-Mare becomes Ja-mare becomes Ja-mer. So Jammer. And it's especially good because it suits you and what you do." I was especially good never to use his name, because I wouldn't want to draw any unnecessary attention to him. And I wanted him to think I was cool!
And that's why I call John Mayer by the nickname of Jammer.
(And incidentally, in my dream, we became friends and every so often go wine tasting with his girlfriend and my friend. He would bring his guitar and we'd have a picnic underneath some tree. He wrote this silly little song for his girlfriend. Her voice was nice, except she just sang the song in really short phrases because she was embarrassed being in the spotlight. It was really cute to see him encourage her. She eventually finished and we applauded.
