• It was a dark and stormy night... and I was terribly bored and typed a line of lyrics of a Modest Mouse song into Google: "I'm just a box in a cage". Lo behold it brought me here to SongMeanings and the rest is nostalgia. I thoroughly enjoy listening to music, but I am in the minority (not on this site of course) of people who really enjoy music more when the lyrics of the song are good, ie any combination of the following: relevant, thought provoking, original, weird, inspiring, funny, sad, poetic, quirky, funky and sometimes unitelligble. So for me, if a rap song has a great beat, but the MC is going off about how much money he's got, I'm not feeling it. So I am here to join my fellow lyricists to discuss and revel in the pure joy of enjoying a well crafted song. Simple, eh? Favourite bands of which I will be posting on (in no particular order); Pavement; Gomez; Modest Mouse; Built To Spill; Godspeed You! Black Emperor; Buck 65 (Canadian rapper), The Tragically Hip.
